Cartoon Cafe Bubble Tea

a) Cartoon Cafe will be an Alberta based partnership providing bubble tea to consumers at the University of Calgary. Corporate headquarters and the retail shop are to be located at the MacEwan Student Centre at the University of Calgary. Cartoon Cafe will be a relaxing environment with great ambience, serving bubble tea and light refreshments to students.
b) Strengths – healthy and tasty, low start up costs, high demand product, relaxing environment, student owned, large traffic, providing service isn’t found in area

Threats – Jugo Juice, large price tag may cause company to fail, large equity needed from investors, size of rental place is very important (costs)
c) The most compelling personal reason for starting this business is that often times I have personally gone down to Chinatown or over to the Northland area when wanting bubble tea and each time I think, why doesn’t the university have a bubble tea shop? Executive Summary Here I have gathered a report to help the executives in my company to decide how we will go about expanding into a new juice bar business. We have a choice of buying a franchise for $80,000 which is a package deal. There are no concerns about recipes operational procedure or training. The down side would be exhausting our financial resources. Then there is the choice of developing a unique juice bar of our own with a start-up cost of $40,000. If we choose to develop our own we must take a close look at three major aspects. #1 Finance let us review the options I presented. Apply for grant funding and minimize the internal funding. Buying a franchise for double the money is unnecessary. Without proper funding choices in place, we could end up in debt. #2 Marketing how will we reach our target…

The business model is very well developed and researched. The plan provides breakdowns of what capital is needed to start-up, maintain the business, and provides an anticipated growth plan for the next three years. The plan also provides information on how many students are required to be enrolled, on an average weekly basis, to break even. Furthermore, the plan provides information for anticipated growth into a franchise consisting of three separate locations. The owner also researched the need for services in the area, the competitors and how to offer services to differentiate the Kid’s College from competitors, and how many “target” homes were within the ten mile radius. The owner also…

The insight our research will provide for Coca Cola can be used to identify declining sales and opportunities to stay relevant in the beverage market. Although a qualitative approach would be beneficial and at a very low cost it would not be conclusive in order to make a long term strategic plan for the company. The data could be used for determining what types of beverages do college students prefer during morning verses evening classes. The main marketing issues for Jamba or any other company are social, economic, technological, competitive, and regulatory when compared with a environmental scan of the United States of America. If a Juice Club were to be open near the University Of Massachusetts Lowell, an environmental scan would prove to be useful. The strengths could be the college environment since they seem to have expendable income to use. However, the area around the university tends to be a more situated around the middleclass income. The college student is an ever transient demo since they are only here for about 4 years. College students are also not here all year long so they are not truly your long-term customers, especially because they only have four years to…
