Opportunities: Moving To Arizona
Opportunities. Lifestyle. Location. These are all important factors for me to consider as I think about where I want to live after I graduate college. Although Chicago and Hawaii both have advantages, I should move to Arizona instead.
Due to its beauty and bright lights, people are drawn to Chicago for many reasons. Chicago, also known as the “city that never sleeps” is home to many shops, restaurants, clubs and bars (The Guide to Moving). Chicago is so diverse that it offers many different types of food. Chicago not only is famous for their pizza, but they have famous Italian beef sandwiches, pierogi, and sushi (“Moving to Chicago”).Pequod’s, Lou Malnati’s, and The Art of Pizza are Chicago’s top three best pizzerias according to Gebert. …show more content…
Kailua- is one of Hawaii’s “best city for adventurers” according to Shute. Oahu is known as “The Gathering Place” and the “state’s most populated island” (Discover Hawaii). Located in Kailua is “some of the island’s most beautiful beaches, the town is also close to great hiking, and has a charming, old town feel” (Shute). This town sounds like the perfect place for me because of its popular beaches and hiking. Not only that, but it’s an easy way to get a sense of adventure because I’m experiencing island life, yet still feeling at home due to its “old town feel”. “With low crime rates and a booming housing market, Kailua is a perfect place to fuel my sense of adventure” (Shute). Low crime rates and a booming house market are important factors to consider when moving.
Another reason I want to live in Hawaii is because everything is much calmer. Living in Hawaii consists of a “laid-back lifestyle” (Lovic). Life in Hawaii is peaceful. Islands function slower than any other place to live because they are “far away from many distractions” (“Pros and Cons”). Being far from distractions is calming because the “busy” lifestyle in Chicago is completely the opposite of the “laid back lifestyle” in

Hawaii averages approximately seventy to eighty-five degrees’ year around with a constant humidity level of a torturous 80%. Summers have been known to reach 90% humidity which makes for a very uncomfortable day, especially considering there are no air-conditioned homes in Hawaii. Furthermore, insects thrive on humidity throughout Hawaii and on any given day you may encounter a centipede, cane spider, cockroaches and many other bugs that are unpleasant. As if that isn’t enough, when the tides are high due to changes in the weather pattern’s jelly fish become the enemy in the ocean and if encountered it can be detrimental to human health and safety. Whether anyone enjoys the dry land or the waters in either state, I still believe Arizona is the safer place to live. In conclusion, although Hawaii is paradise and a splendid place to visit, the cost of living, the level of education and whether conditions should have anyone reconsidering a move to Hawaii any time soon.
