Ophiacodon Description
Echo-Description of toy-- Our toy design is an Ophiacodon( pronunciation Oh-fee-ack-oh-don.) An Ophiacodon is a lizard like dinosaur. The longest this particular species grows is 3 meters long. How Ophiacodon lived and hunted is still a matter of debate today with some claiming that it was a semi aquatic carnivore that fed on fish and amphibians. Support for this comes from the small and numerous teeth that would have been great for gripping slippery prey like fish. There is also a notch at the end of the upper jaw, a trait commonly seen in animals that have a piscivorous diet. Others however suggest that the deep skull would have been more of a hindrance and that the legs seem to support and lift the body up as opposed to just sprawling out …show more content…
When we went to design it, we were confused about what to use for everything. For the body we decided to use the brown colored paper and color on it with colors like browns, greens and reds, we used different crayons and colored pencils to give it texture. For the head we are using a Styrofoam ball we will carve it so it looks like a dinosaur head. After we carve it we are going to paint it, again using Browns and greens and reads For the legs Brennan has an idea to make them move with the toy. Brennan-Explanations-- This toy would Appeal to 6-10 year olds because of how dinosaurs are mostly one of kids favorite animal because of their designs and body texture and how they sound really makes kids enjoy them. When my partner Echo and I asked younger kids around town most of them would prefer a dinosaur as a project. I rounded up all my knowledge of dinosaurs and we went with the ophicanadon. Echo-Results- At the beginning, we had troubles making our toy move. We first used In the 45 toothed gear with the 75 toothed gear that went pretty fast but it wouldn't go up the ramp. Once we tried to fix it the axle wouldn't go through any of the holes in the frame. Lastly,we decided to use a 45 tooth gear, and a 25 tooth gear driving it. Our fasted time was 2.78. After we added our design it went to 2.71. On the 15 degree ramp it went up

It depicts a desk upon which is a 2D drawing of a tessellated pattern of reptiles and hexagons. it is 33.4 cm × 38.5 cm in size and is now displayed at... The reptiles at one edge of the drawing emerge into three dimensional reality, come to life and appear to crawl over a series of symbolic objects. Although only the size of small lizards, the reptiles have protruding crocodile-like fangs, and the one atop the dodecahedron has a dragon-like puff of smoke billowing from its nostrils. Today, by looking at the anatomy of the alligator there are many similarities between alligators and humans. (Jones, 2011) Most of their internal organs are located in roughly the same place as a human. The liver and spleen are just above the stomach while the intestines are below, and their spine runs down the middle of their back. The most interesting feature of the alligator is the mouth. The most noted feature often is the long nose and mouth. The nose and mouth is long for two reasons. First, it allows for the alligator to breathe while the rest of his body is underwater, and second to handle the force load of its powerful jaws when it closes. The bite of an alligator has been measures at over 2,100 pounds. That’s the equivalent of a car landing on top of a human. (Viegas, 2003) The mouth has evolved of the centuries to handle the pressure exerted.…

At this time, Australia was full of gigantic animals such as the Procoptodon and the Diprotodon and feeding on these gigantic animals was Megalania. There were other hunters such as the Marsupial Lion, one of the best hunters in the world at that time, but they were no match for this monster lizard. Today, scientists observe other monitor lizards, such as the prehistoric lizard’s closest relative, the lace monitor, and make observations about the structure of Megalania. “Sue” is the fossilized bones of a Tyrannosaurus-rex. It is the most preserved and complete T-rex skeleton ever found. Sue has by far the largest amount of completely preserved bones, with more than 200 original bones found with its skeleton. Almost all of the bones in its skeleton were found perfectly preserved with its skull. The rest were replicated in plaster molds using what other paleontologists had discovered about the anatomy of the T-rex. All of the other T-rex fossils in the world were barely half-complete, with dozens of bones missing. The bones of Sue were so well preserved that it is possible to see where the muscles and tissues were in each bone. Even after 67 million years, the muscles and other tissues attached to the bones are still visible in the fossil. Sue was a major breakthrough in paleontology.…

Tyrannosaurus rex was a meat-eater about 40 feet (12.4 m) long, about 15-20 feet (4.6-6 m) tall, and about 5-7 tons in weight. T. rex probably had about 200 bones, roughly the same as us (no one knows exactly how many it had, since no complete T. Rex Skeletons have been found). About a dozen T. Rex Skeletons have been found. T. rex 's jaws were up to 4 feet (1.2 m) long and had 50 to 60 thick, conical, bone-crunching teeth that were up to 9 inches (23 cm) long. T. Rex Dung has been found containing crushed bone - its teeth were capable of inflicting an enormous amount of damage on other creature). Diapsids are animals that have two extra holes in the sides of their skulls. Like all other dinosaurs, T. rex walked on its toes. There is a pad of tissue on the back of the feet on these animals that acts like a shock absorber. People, bears, and crocodiles walk differently they are flat-footed. T. rex had three clawed toes on each foot and one dew claw, a very small, virtually useless toe. Its legs were very strong and powerful. T. rex had tiny arms in comparison with the rest of its body. The upper part of the arm was imbedded in its body, rendering the arms almost useless and with a very limited range of motion. T rex 's arms couldn 't even reach its mouth!
