While some people are stronger writers than others, anyone can become a decent writer with time and effort. Some of us were gifted with a natural writing ability, but with hard work, a writer can be made I agree with King’s assertion about the making of different degrees of writers. Some people were born with the ability to produce a story that’ll interest people. Let’s take Shakespeare for example, he was born to write. It came as naturally as breathing to him and he’s one of the greatest writers of all time. Others, who are not natural writers, can become a good writer. It just takes a lot more time and dedication to become that. Some of us may have great ideas in our heads, but can’t transfer those thoughts to paper as well as others who are great writers. Also, those who aren’t Shakespeare’s of our time, most likely, will never become more than a good writer compared to those who are born with the natural writing ability. We can become better writers than we were, but won’t meet the same standards as those who were gifted with the talent of writing. Writing can only be taught to a certain extent. Some people may have great idea, but are not able to transfer their ideas to paper and still get the same effect. But, you can teach someone the general techniques of writing to help them improve their writing skills. But, you cannot teach someone how to come up with ideas in their brain. For me, I’m great with coming up with ideas and plots for different stories in my head. I just have trouble putting my ideas onto paper and still have it make as much sense as it did in my head. But, I’ve worked on trying to explain things more thoroughly and not rush through my ideas and it’s made my writing better than it used to be.
Even though all of us are not born with such talent as Shakespeare, we can become good writers with lots of hard work, dedication and time. Strive to write better than your own best and don’t worry about being better than anybody else.

Personally, I’ve always felt I was a decent writer in all aspects regarding research and personal narratives. Considering those are subjects that interest me and that I love to read about. I struggle the most when it comes to making my writing hold a deeper or hidden message when the topics I am told to write about don’t interest me. Having to do rhetorical analysis with old literature and having to explain the main idea was my number one struggle in AP language and composition senior year. But other than that I felt, throughout high school, I enjoyed writing and taking a majority of the writing classes my school had to offer, not only because it was required but because it was something that teachers and myself felt I did acceptable work.…

I used to believe I was a good writer. Throughout my elementary school education, creative writing dominated curriculum which allowed my extremely creative mindset to thrive. In middle school, I developed an elitist mentality about my writing ability. Believing that I reached my academic peak, I felt no need to sharpen my writing skills, causing me to become close minded to critique or other writing styles. Upon entering high school, I still clung to the idea that I was the best, but after my first week of class, I realized how weak my writing skills were in contrast to those of other students. Now, I am aware of my strengths and weaknesses as a writer, and hope to have come far from my middle school self.…

In elementary school I went to a special class during lunch to learn how to read and write better. In middle school I went to after school help, but my writing skills always seemed to slip behind the level of the students around me.…

My writing process has always been a frustrating one. I like writing, but I don't think I'm very good at it. When I was younger, I loved letting my creative side shine by writing silly stories and pretending I was Stephen King, using words that I didn't even understand. My dad read me Shel Silverstein's books of poems and and drawings. Those books inspired me so much to write and to draw and be creative on a blank sheet of paper.…

As a freshman in college, I know myself enough to say that writing has never been my strongest skill. Never. I believe that writing is extremely important and I envy those who can do it with ease. Good writing doesn't come to everyone and it should not be overlooked. Against(Contrary to) popular belief It doesn't always have to be evil and out to ruin your life such as a research paper or a long narrative poem telling of a hero's deed. It can be a bumper sticker on a Volkswagen Buggie or even Amanda Bynes last crazy tweet, now the difference good writing and writing in general is a whole other thing I'll have to get into. If your reading it, it's someones writing. Whether its good writing or bad writing, well it depends on whose reading it really.…
