An Evaluation of the Olive Garden Restaurant

Olive Garden has always been known for a great Italian meal and family friendly atmosphere. Tradition has always been a strong part of the experience as each meal is start with soup or salad and their patented bread sticks. These and more have made Olive Garden a staple nationwide in Italian cuisine, however like any chain, it does come with a few flaws. Olive Garden’s qualities entail everything a family Italian restaurant with minimal flaws in its design image, food, and customer service. When I see an Olive Garden restaurant, it always appears to be a fancy upscale eatery that would in most cases be out of the price range of most American families. The interior of the restaurant, like the exterior, is designed to be a clash between modern and traditional Italian style. Uses of vine, wine bottles, and stone are used throughout the establishment to give a true Italian feel. All the surrounding and staff give you an overall pleasant experience that however can be tainted due to one small issue. When browsing the menu, you will notice that the prices may not be as high as gourmet restaurants, they are still above average for most “family” establishments. Each entrée can be compared with a competitor’s price and you will see that Olive Garden’s menu will be approximately one to two dollars more. This doesn’t sound like much but does add up with multiple people. The biggest kicker I have seen is the wine prices. A glass of Ruinite Lambrusco at Olive Garden will cost four dollars and seventy-five cents with the bottle costing twenty-two dollars. The same bottle you may purchase will cost five dollars in a local store. Minding the minor inconvenience in price, Olive Garden sets a standard in staff and appearance. When looking for great Italian cuisine, look no further than Olive Garden to be

I am currently employed at the Olive Garden in Oshkosh WI so I only thought doing my managerial report project on this service restaurant was appropriate. The Oshkosh Olive Garden was opened in the April of last year and has been running smoothly ever since. Olive Garden is a chain restaurant so there are locations all over the United States around 700 to be exact, this means a lot of the price setting and procedures are set country wide not from restaurant to restaurant. Even so each Olive Garden keeps track of their own sales and personally contributes to the overall company. At Olive Garden we proudly serve lunch and dinner with a casual Italian dining experience. The dinner entrees are priced anywhere from $11- $19 a meal but included unlimited soup or salad and then breadsticks. I have been working at the Olive Garden for about 7 months now so I felt that I knew most of what goes on on the outside of the restaurant but it is time to take a deeper look into the procedures put into this everyday restaurant.…

The theme for all Red Robin restaurants is “Red Robin….Yum!” When thinking about this statement you really have to think about all that encompasses. What makes the food so good? Does the atmosphere make the yum factor even better? What about the staff how do they contribute to the yum factor of the food? For this evaluation I would like to explore this yum factor and truly understand what makes the Red Robin chain of restaurants stick with yum as a marketing tool to entice customers to come in.…

    Applebee's Evaluation

As my girlfriend and I pull into a crowded parking lot during a chilly Friday evening, we struggle to find a spot of our own, but manage to do so as we take the place of another young couple as they pull out to leave. I put the car in park as we both gaze at the numerous parties walking into the restaurant. A bright sign, hung lit overhead, shining the phrase "Applebee's Neighborhood Bar and Grill" atop a red brick building. Awnings were placed above every window, and resting on the ground, between each window, was a wooden park bench surrounded by lush, green foliage on either side. The whole place looked as if it had been pulled straight from a friendly neighborhood in the heart of the big apple. I knew we had made the right dinner decision even before walking in the large, double doors. Applebee's has always been a favorite of mine. There is rarely ever a wait to be seated and thrown into the laid back, neighborhood atmosphere that they aim to provide. Their service is exceptional, with quick and courteous staff members which you encounter as soon as you walk in. And depending on what you order, you can always count on Applebee's to present you with not just a meal, but an experience for both your eyes and your taste buds.…

Often called “Brio” for short, Brio Tuscan Grille at Town Square offers a variety of food with excellent service so your mind is satisfied and your belly is full. From the beginning, I have always been in love with the miniature Roman Colosseum inside the restaurant. Though the theme of the restaurant isn’t unique since there are so many other Italian choices within the City of Las Vegas, the ambiance of the Colosseum gives the restaurant a really unique, Italian feel.…

The second restaurant that I chose is a mid-scale restaurant in our market. Olive Garden restaurants offer a unique take on Italian food. While Olive Garden serves all of the classic Italian dishes that one would expect, there is also new specials most months that bring a new edge to the restaurant. The Olive Garden in our area has a beautiful patio area with fresh vining flowers covering the terrace. I chose this restaurant because it is a good representation of the mid-scale dining in American society.…

    Red Lobster Marketing

Red Lobster should add better and higher priced wine selection to cater to the Experientials. With alcohol being 12% of their meals, and 14% of Eclectics meals, (Table B) this change would increase money spent in this area because some may want to buy even more expensive wines that currently aren’t available. Concerning broadening the menu, we believe that Red Lobster should stick to a menu that focuses on freshness and quality of seafood rather than quantity of broad menu items. Freshness and quality is most important to customers when selecting a seafood restaurant (Exhibit 6). This will better attract the Experientials and also the Eclectics because both of these parties enjoy new, sophisticated unique dining experiences (Table A). Concerning wine different restaurants should definitely place a greater emphasis on wine because certain areas may have a much larger wine drinking crowd. This could be accomplished by both varying ambience and also varying…

For the third observation I decided on going to Gino’s pizzeria in kings park, even though it’s pretty close to my house around 8 minutes away. I haven't gone in because even though i love pizza i would rather go to Short Stop another local pizzeria which is on the next shopping plaza over. even before i entered Ginos pizzeria i could smell fresh pizza being baked with strong hints of garlic and oregano. when i did go inside I notice that it was pretty busy with 4 people in front of me on line and a around 8 people sitting down eating, in the front There was also chicken parm, garlic knots and pasta on top of there being pizza’s like Sicilian and grandma styled pizza. But also the place was a lot more new so it looked better than the older short stop pizzeria, the counter tops were all aluminum and aluminum ovens, the seats cushions looked handle worn and had a dark wooden legs and frames, compared to the worn seats in short stop which many of the seats cushions were cracking and had a few scratches on them.…

When it comes to Italian food, I definitely prefer The Olive Garden over Carrabba's Italian Grill. Although Carrabba's has the Italian bread with herbs and oil, along with their manicotti that I enjoy so much, I would rather have The Olive Garden's unlimited bread sticks and salad as well as pleasant atmosphere. The two restaurants have some similarities; however, their differences are more obvious.…
