Oedipus Rex Qualities
My outlook is that Oedipus was a great leader. He seemed to be an authentic caring person. Oedipus was a man of swift action and great insight. He was a leader because he answered the riddle and eradicated the monster that had plagued the citizens of Thebes. By being the only one who could solve the riddle he established himself as a leader of the people, a defender of the people. This is why they had great trust in him and pursued help from him when their King was killed. Save for the fact that Oedipus himself was the killer, he did not know this, so his reaction to the cries for help was noble and exemplary of a leader.
