Odwalla, Inc., a health-conscious juice producer, must challenge effects that its apple juice product is contaminated and has been linked to the causes of several outbreaks of the E. coli virus. It is a truly unlucky circumstance when product contaminations happen and especially unfortunate when customers become sick as an outcome. These situations can ruin customer confidence in a company; but, a well thought out strategy will allow Odwalla to continue positive relationships with customers, keep the brand significance, and maintain consumer loyalty.

Odwalla’s most significant resources are its’ strong customer loyalty and brand recognition for providing “all natural” juice products. Since the company’s main ability focuses on the all-natural production procedure and the idea of “nourishing the body whole”, it is look at as a high quality product. So, the assumption that Odwalla is producing juice products with E.     When walking into Orange Leaf, the bright orange, green, and white décor invite you in. Then, an undeniably sweet scent allures one into assuming their product will consist of top quality and deliciousness. However, when examined closely, the truth reveals itself. With 16 flavors to choose from, pinning down the flavor most desired stands easier said than done. Though almost always in this store, a machine stands broken or a sticky mess, forcing the consumer to decide against that particular flavor. Besides that, Orange Leaf remains one of the only frozen yogurt companies that actually makes their yogurt in the store. By mixing milk, powdered yogurt, and an artificial flavoring, “frozen yogurt” has been conceived. Typically, froyo shops order their yogurt made in a factory with regulations and comes in gallon jugs. When yogurt actually comes from the store made by the employees, ensuring consistency and quality one hundred percent of the time remains impossible. The toppings in Orange Leaf do not measure up to par either. Although kept refrigerated, the fruit often looks slimy and possesses a mushy texture as if it has been sitting out. After able to find the cause of contamination a corrective action should be done to stop or prevent the same situation on the next production. As part of the social responsibility, it would be wise to recall the products from the retailers and inform the consumers (through media) immediately to return the unused products before an outbreak may happen due to the contaminated food.
