Oco 2 Compare And Contrast
The CALIPSO and OCO-2 are two satellites on the NASA A-Train (Afternoon Train). The A-Train is a group of satellites that travel behind one another that travel on the same track as they orbit earth. CALIPSO contains CALIOP, a nadir-viewing two wavelength, polarization-sensitive lidar with two passive sensors. CALIPSO provided the first data set of aerosol and cloud profiles. The lidar beam from the CALIPSO is able to distinguish these layers. Since low cloud layers are able to be penetrated by lidar, the CALIPSO can better detect low level clouds and thin cirrus clouds.

The OCO-2 will be compared to the CALIPSO to see where they agree and disagree on where there is a cloud. OCO-2 is one of the first satellites to accurately measure carbon

In O Brother Where Art Thou and Homer’s Odyssey the use of epic themes did not always parallel one another. The personality of the characters in the movie greatly affected whether the Greek’s upstanding views portrayed in the themes, such as loyalty, differed from the epic poem. In a comparable sense, the plots influenced whether the themes, like the homecoming, were similar in the movie and poem. However, the movie is by no means directly based upon the epic poem; you simply cannot view either without perceiving the connection between the uses of epic themes.…

The novel I selected is called "Code Orange." My reasoning for choosing it, was that it was recommended by a friend. No new information was needed before reading the novel; instead all of it was stated or implied as reading. Mitty, the main character is telling the story, and the setting is in New York City. The setting doesn't show much significance to the story though I believe it would unfold different events later through the novel. At the beginning of the novel Mitty as been assigned a project for biology, where he need to do research on an infectious disease. Mitty not putting effort in his classes , he fears that he wont be able to finish it and would be kicked out of advance biology.…

Satellites are equipped with what are called radiometers. They measure electromagnetic energy that the Earth and the atmosphere reflect, scatter, transmit, and emit. The two types of radiometers measure visible light from the sun and radiation emitted from the earth’s surface or its clouds. When the visible light radiometers produce images, they represent sunlight reflected off of objects on the Earth, which could be clouds, water, vegetation or something else. The radiometers measure radiation wavelengths between 10 and 12 microns. When these radiometers produce images, it is representative of heat rather than light, cold is white and hot is black. These are beneficial because it gives information day and night, unlike visual imagery. The IR satellite images are used to tell if clouds are height or low based on temperature, cold means high clouds while warm means low. Knowing cloud heights and temperatures help determine where weather will be coming from, or what will be forming in the future. Visible images help determine cloud types based on their visibility. The visibility is based on the number of water drops in it to reflect light. Knowing cloud types helps determine where rain or storms are happening, where is starts or and where it will end. Less commonly used is water vapor imagery. It can be used in some situations when areas cant be seen visibly or are being covered by clouds hiding the temp…
