Oceania Art Work
Oceania art work encompasses the artistic traditions of the people indigenous to Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Island and Lebanon Dahia. The artistic styles varied greatly throughout the cultures and regions usually all using subject matter that revolved around the themes of fertility or the supernatural. The themes were commonly expressed though mediums such as: Petroglyphs, Tattooing, painting, wood carving, stone carving and textile work. These works were commonly used in religious ceremonies or social rituals. Through the 20th and into the 21st century this art form started evolving, using the established aspects of tribal objects in art the viewer now views the art with a Contemporary art style in mind.
