She now has three children and stays at home kids and does all household responsibilities including cleaning and cooking. Then taking the children to all doctor’s appointments, school, and doing whatever shopping is necessary for the home. Now that her youngest is going to attend school soon she is worried about what she will do with her time. Mrs. Hopewell is an optimist and incapable of understanding her child. I think she is naïve and superficial. I think she is a typical southern woman who has a hospitality to anybody, this idea come from when she invited Manley Pointer, a stranger in to dinner.…
She has been working for the same school for over 20 years. She started off as a teacher assistant in a pre-kindergarten classroom, which my oldest child was attending at the time. Esther came to Chicago with very little education, but a great desire to succeed. Esther says, “I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher. When I came to the United States, I came with the desire to succeed and learn. I did research on many schools and found out about programs that would help me achieve my goal. I was not going to take no for an answer.” Esther is a very friendly and enthusiastic woman. I often see her talking and laughing with parents on school grounds or in social events. Yes, Esther attends many social events in our neighborhood. She is well known by parents and children in the community. She has seen my children grow up and she has been a great support for me. I chose to interview Esther because not only does she work with children, she encourages women to become the best that they can be so that they can provide for their families and become independent. This is what she did for me. She encouraged me to go back to school and get my degree in…

She has the middle class values of honesty, hard work, progress, achievement and respectability (Friedman, et al., 2003). Individualism and equality are valued, but she stresses respect for God, family and elders; good grades and academic achievement above all else. Health care for the children is important to her. She utilizes her health care insurance to makes sure they have all the needed physicals, immunizations, eye and dental care recommended by their pediatrician. She has delayed her own routine health and dental care and screenings to meet work or family commitments. I explained to Lois that in a recent study a questionnaire was given at both men and women to evaluate family burdens; domestic responsibilities; the appraisal of work and family; and values involved in work-family balance. The results of this study show that, in the present economic and cultural context, assuming family burdens and domestic responsibilities increases the positive appraisal of work and family (Cantera, Cubells, Martinez & Blanch, 2009).…

Today, I thought I would take a moment to share some of the fun adventures I get to enjoy by being a writing mommy. My little one is just a couple of weeks away from being two and she is completely the best thing ever! Of course, we always have some fun and interesting times throughout the day, and we do tend to shed a few tears from time to time. But, for the most part, we have some pretty great times together.…

One time when we were driving to Florida for some reason, we came across a soup kitchen. Outside of it was a sign that asked for help so we decided to hop in to volunteer. After a while of waiting to check in we were about to leave but, the person running the kitchen called us over and talked about what to do. By the time we started it already felt like a normal job.…

This person (or so she thought) appeared after she had been raising her children alone for the previous four years. As their relationship grew, they reasoned that it would be good if they moved in together. Soon after moving in together, she found herself sinking into the same routines that she had in her marriage. Slowly but surely she fell into the groove of being a "good house wife" and stopped feeling the need to pursue her career. She found…
Many people often base their opinions on a person by judging his whole life in general and his attitude towards life without caring about who the person really is deep down inside. This unfair reasoning can occur in the courtroom when people are put on trial and the judge and the jury must delve into the life of the accused and determine if he is a hazard to society. Occasionally, the judge and jury are too concerned with the accused’s past that they become too biased and give an unfair conviction and sentencing. In his novel, The Stranger, Albert Camus uses the courtroom as a symbol to represent society that judges the main character, Meursalt, unfairly to illustrate how society forms opinions based on one’s past.…
Have you even been able to just sit down and watch people? Watching people is one of the craziest things to do in life. There are so many different types of people in the world. You can't predict what you are going to see or hear. I went to the Boise Town Square Mall and was given the opportunity to sit down and observe the lives of others around me.…
