Object Of My Affection Character Analysis
Da’Trell Pitts The Object of my Affection was a boring chick flick in all honesty. But to story it told was slightly interesting. Most of the people in the movie and their encounters with the other member of the movie show signs of few physiological conditions. You can dissect many characters and point out some of their tendencies and how they think. Which can help you understand how they handled the situations they were in and why everything ended how it did. Based on all the characters personality and how they think in certain situations The two main protagonist are George and Nina. Nina is a social worker who owns the apartment George and her later share. She starts out in a relationship with Vince and we are told that it is an OK relationship

The entire story was driven by instincts. Nina felt instinctively more comfortable with George than Vince. These was properly showcased when she choose to live with George instead of Vince. George’s instincts drove him to other men and this didn’t become a problem until Nina felt for George what George felt for Paul. Nina’s instincts tricked her rational thinking. Because her body and mind chose George to be there for her even though every member of the audience could tell that she would develop stronger feeling for him which was only natural but she should’ve known better. And secondly Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. The hierarchy goes Physiological Needs, Safety and Security Needs, Affiliation Needs, Esteem Needs, and Self-actualization. Nina showed us this hierarchy as the movie progressed. When Vince became overbearing and mentally annoyed her she ran to George more for comfort which helped in her later decision. She felt more secure raising a child with George even though Vince is the father. She choose to stand with George even though Constance was against it as she cared more about her mental happiness then happiness by who she was affiliated with. In the end this story was one that touched on points about identity and caring for others. Most decisions made by the characters seemed quite
