Oakley Vs Kissimmee Essay
If there was an award for the most boring and obscure place it would go to Oakley Kansas. That’s not to say that there isn’t anything to do there, but Kissimmee has a much larger variety of activities and entertainment. Both Oakley and Kissimmee are away from the city, and they are okay places to live, but it depends on the person’s need for solitude, privacy, and if they want to go a few towns over to the nearest shopping plaza. Oakley is a great place to go if someone needs to be alone if they are willing to live on a farm. Oakley is such a small quiet town, but half of it is made up of the prairie. If anyone is willing to drive nine miles to the main road that leads into town then Oakley is the place to be, but in the winter when it snows the dirt roads become muddy, and the cars get stuck, so it is necessary to be careful. Most of the people there went through all twelve years of school together, so they know the ins and outs of each other’s lives, and when someone new comes to town all they do is gossip. The townspeople are always in one’s privacy. If they see the new person at the grocery store or the thrift shop they will follow them around just to see what they bought, and then run and tell their friends the news. However, in Kissimmee, one can go to the Loop and have a great time all day in the stores, or go to the lakefront. No one really cares about anyone else. The people mind their business and go about their day. If someone goes to the store to get paper towels, and someone else comes in to get paper towels as well there is no need to stay and converse, so they take the paper towels and leave. No need to get into anyone’s business. If one enjoys that kind of privacy Kissimmee is the preferable
