1. Understand why communication is important in the work setting. Reasons why people communicate
1.1 Communication is important for several reasons, to express their needs, feelings, emotions, pain. To express opinions, to build relationships, to share ideas and information, socialise, to ask questions, reassuring, to share experiences.
1.2 The impact of communication on own work
Effective communication is very important in workplace how you communicate with other colleagues, people who us services, aids and understanding of individual needs. Avoid of misunderstanding at workplace is very important .Working with children and young people is important to develop their need and the support the development of effective relationships, support the development of own knowledge and skills.
1.3 The importance of observing others reactions
It’s important to observe an individual’s reaction when communicating with service users. Using to appropriate tone, pitch when speaking to people such as observing the body language, facial expressions, eye contact, gestures and touch. To understand emotional state, knowing if information has been understood, when and how to adjust communication methods, recognising barriers to communicate.
2. Be able to meet the communication and language needs, wishes and preferences of individuals

We have to realise that each of us is classed as an individual. The methods of communication we use are different for example at home and at work. Each of us, communicate in different ways.     In my role, it is important that I can communicate in the correct way to ensure that the needs of the service user are understood and are dealt with correctly. Effective written and verbal communication and being able to use a variety of interpersonal techniques helps to promote strong working relationships and will promote good quality care for the service user.
