Nutrition Supplements
Why does that happen? It's because the vast majority of nutrition supplements are not assimilated by the body, yet the supplement industry of which nutrition supplements are a part, are a literal multi-billion dollar a year enterprise.
Without any further adieu, here are the key things to look for when choosing quality vitamin supplements.
1. Product Development and Nutrient Reactions: The supplement you're considering should be rigorously tested and its creation process overseen by certified professionals. Vitamins work in a precise symbiotic synergism. Getting optimal assimilation is 0% art, 100% science. In other words, the vitamin supplements should be scientifically formulated and certified with each batch (see point #2).
2. Manufacturing Procedures: These should utilize pharmaceutical blending not paddle/ribbon blender-type mixers. In addition, contact the company to ask if they have a Certificate of Analysis (COA) on file, confirming the potency of each batch. If the company ignores you or hesitates, that's not a good sign. Lastly, you should select a vitamin supplements maker that adheres to pharmaceutical GMP compliance - this is the

Optimal Delivery System: The supplement should have enteric coating for optimal assimilation in the human system. (I discuss this more in depth later on in this article.) This is critical yet almost nobody considers this when choosing a vitamin. If they did, they would save a lot of money.
4. Product Quality & Freshness: The ingredients the vitamins are made from should be made in smaller batches with the manufacturing process NOT outsourced out to other manufacturers. Remember, most vitamin and mineral supplement makers, as well as herbal product manufacturers are unregulated by the FDA. While this has its pros and cons, a vast majority of vitamin supplements don't even insert the claimed ingredients into the supplement and contamination is a legitimate threat (again, this is why you want pharmaceutical GMP

They are only out for their own agenda and do not care about the unethical practices they are doing to make a profit. General Nutrition Center has a reputation for misleading the general public. In 2004, Abbey Spanier Rodd Abrams, LLP files a class action lawsuit on behalf of consumers against General Nutrition Center for violating consumer protection laws. This lawsuit was filed due to GNC having products in their store that had misleading labels. It was proven that some products they were selling did not contain the milligrams and products that were listed on the label (Marketing Weekly News, 2012). Misleading people has been a pattern for this company and has lead to many lawsuits by consumers and franchisee against the company. Under the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act, the company violated laws by misleading consumers and not giving accurate milligrams and ingredients that many of their products contained. This law was enacted by the Federal Trade Commission and the Food and Drug administration in 1967 to insure that companies do not falsify information of their products. Under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, enacted in 2008 Gnc was in violation of misleading consumers about the products they were selling (Seaquist, 2012). This violated many tort laws put in place to protect consumers against this type of activity from happening. Many of the products were considered to be dangerous for consumers and had to be recalled for consumer protection. Gnc and companies such as Woodbolt Inc. were fined and sued for this violation. This is just an example of how GNC has misled people in the pass and are now misleading those who buy franchise store (Marketing Weekly News, 2012). General Nutrition Center is a large company who has a great reputation for health and fitness. It is one of the leading health stores in the country. The problem is the company has lost the ability to connect with not only their…

    Gmp Regulations

The FDA supplements standard cGMP regulations found in 21 CFR 211 with biologic product specific cGMP’s found in 21 CFR 600. The additional regulations cover specific concerns such as temperature holding, animal processing, and vaccine processing among other issues. Three of the most important aspects of both GMP regulations in relation to biologic production are the materials management, process validation, and change protocol. The importance of raw material management in the production of biologics cannot be understated. Associated risks with the various biological raw materials are: prions, mycoplasmas, bacteria/fungi, and viral infection. All of these are incorporated into possible adventitious agents, which can be found in final biologic products (Geigert, 2013). Proper steps need to be taken to ensure that the raw materials being used are not contaminated with possible adventitious agents. It is possible that viral DNA can be transmitted through cell lines, which can produce unknown responses in a patient if administered. FDA guidance states that proper a properly designed quality system can help determine if raw materials contain any adventitious agents, especially when utilizing cell substrates and viral seeds. Further the FDA states that if raw materials were not sourced under the concepts of cGMP’s, proper documentation needs to be used to support the use of such raw materials in the CMC section of the submission (FDA, 2010). Another important aspect of GMP’s in relation to biologic manufacturing is process validation. Relating back to raw materials, there is a large concern for impurities associated with the final biologic product. The importance of process validation is that proper…
