Nursing Case Study Dementia
The patient is 76-year-old married Syrian female who is brought to the emergency room by her family because of a change in mental status. The patient has become more agitated, combative and having visual hallucinations. The family also indicates the patient is not independent in activities of daily living she's had frequent multiple falls over the last several weeks as well as turning the stove on and leaving it is also trying to wander out of the house at night. It has become increasingly difficult for them to maintain a safe environment for her. She is known to have history of dementia. She has been on Namenda, Aricept and Lexapro and Seroquel.
