Nurse To Patient Ratios Research Paper
Nurses are considered patient advocates, but who is the voice of reason for the nurse? In the United States, only a handful of states have set mandates for the number of patients that a nurse can have based upon stability. Unfortunately, Florida is not one of these states. Nationwide higher nurse to patient ratios have resulted in medication errors, an increase in nurse burn out, higher nursing turn outs, lower patient satisfaction, and a decrease in the overall quality of patient care.
