Creating an .iso Image From Windows 7 Installation Media
Overview
Carrying around installation media for repairs and installations can become cumbersome. Making an .iso image of a file enables network support to carry around installation media without the need for numerous physical disks. In this lab we will use the Windows 7 installation DVD to make an .iso image.

4. Under Destination Selection > Select Browse and choose your removable drive. Change the filename to Windows7Image and change the file type to .ISO

Creating A Windows 7 Virtual Appliance
Overview
You are creating a new computer virtual appliance with Windows 7 Professional using VMware Player. Your first task is to create a new Virtual Machine and install Windows 7 Professional 32bit with appropriate settings for the test lab network.

Step 3. Select the installer disk image and click next. You will have to navigate to your Passport drive and locate the Win7.ISO image you created in Exercise 1.4.

Step 8 Name your VM Appliance Workstation## where ## is the number assigned by your instructor. Store the new Appliance in a newly created Windows 7 folder in your ITT
