Nationalism is from the people. Patriotism is the act of one individual for their country. When given these two points, we can clearly believe that one is part of the other. Faith within the nationalism can cause things like hatred within the nations, like the quote from the source; “Nationalism, when hate for people other than your own comes first.” When nationalism is one’s identity, and a part of one’s nation, the way an individual thinks about other countries, becomes the way they treat the other countries. Even though nationalism is an aspiration common to the whole of a nation, patriotism is the devoted love, support, and defence of one’s country/nation. The way one individual acts can either be patriotic, or nationalistic. Even stronger than nationalism, is the ability to prevail. This ability is often associated with patriotism. One should embrace the perspective on nationalism reflected in “Patriotism is when love of your own people comes first; nationalism, when hate for people other than your own comes first” as it applies to the First World War in 1914.…

Young adults depend from a well-educational system in order to become community leaders of and not slaves from a corrupt educational system. Therefore, school should help and develop young adults’ ideas about reality of life by giving to them more knowledge about the world that is around them. As Gatto relates, “We could encourage the best qualities of youthfulness- curiosity, adventure, resilience, the capacity for surprising insight” (34). People can create different types of leadership that can govern and accomplish the necessities of a population. In addition, schools should have three goals in order to educate juveniles. First, make good people. Second, make good citizens. Third, make each person his or her personal best. (Gatto 36). These goals are important to create better generations because schools are becoming factories that usually decide who is going to be the next leadership and who is going to be another employee and consumer. Therefore, the educational system should be arranged in a way that helps to achieve the individuals’ goals for his or her…

    The Era of Good Feelings

Although, I am discussing about compare and contrast the concepts of nationalism and patriotism. Nationalism is considered by respect of the nation, a feeling of national superiority, an uncritical acceptance of national, state, and political authorities, a control of unsure attitudes toward the nation, a preference to define one’s own group by criteria of descent, race, or cultural affiliation, and derogation of groups not considered to be part of the nation. Nationalism and patriotism both show the relationship of an individual towards his or her nation. The two are often confused and usually believed to mean the same thing. However, there is a huge difference between nationalism and patriotism. Nationalism means to give more importance to accord by way of a cultural background, including language and heritage. Patriotism refers to the love for a nation, with more importance on values and beliefs.…

Also, each NSTP student is required to scout and involve at least five more SLU students who are not currently enrolled in the NSTP to vote. Each enrolled NSTP student must have 6 successfully and properly accomplished forms to submit and this will be equivalent to 20/20 quiz points. Researchers who have examined participation in youth-serving organisations suggest that there are positive outcomes for youth, adults and organisations. Zeldin et al (2000) investigated the impact of youth on adults and organisations. They conducted personal interviews and focus groups with 19 youth (12-21 years) and 29 adults from 15 youth-serving organisations in the US. These authors observed that the participation of young people had positive effects on adults and organisations. Their findings suggest that adults discover the competence of youth and enhance their (adults) commitment to the organisation. Adults also feel more confident in working with youth and begin to understand the needs and concerns of youth. This study contributed to our understanding on the impact of youth on both adults and organisations.…

I’m so excited about the first day of meeting in our NSTP 2 and expecting that NSTP 2 is much better than our last NSTP. In our first day same also our first activity is to introduce myself to the class and give experiences on the past NSTP. That time I didn’t recognized anyone, my only companion are some of my block mates and some of my ex-block mates, and on this same day our professor, Ma’am Izel set us into 5 groups and our group name was “Eye to Eye”, we named our group eye to eye because most of us wear glasses. The next meeting we have activities, the first activity is we performed a cheer by groups and that time our leader assign me to think or to make a cheer and the cheer I made is so corny but we did it our best to come up in a positive way. The second activity is to build a tower and the materials needed is only a pack of straw, Ma’am Izel said that this activity is about to build more closeness and to get to know each other on our group mates, all of us help one another, giving ideas and thoughts in order to build a strong tower, very tall tower, transformer tower and stability tower, I guess the name of the tower we made is “E-boy tower” because he is like a people or robot. I learn much in this activity we grow more closeness to our group mates, I agree Ma’am Izel. The next activity is the ocular inspection, this ocular inspection helps us to know where we do our task, lead us to accomplishing well our next activity. The next activity is our tree planting, in this activity I guess I performed the most because I dig the rocky and very hard soil with a weakling broken shovel, pulverizing again the rocky and very hard soil, and then got some water and water the soil to become wet and water also the vegetable we plant, after that immersion I felt exhausted and slight dizzy. I learn from that activity was sometime I can become environmental concern and that activity will not only focus on helping the…
