This writer will be exploring the many differences between a nurse with an Associates-degree in nursing and a nurse with a bachelors-degree in nursing. Quality patient care is positively affected on having a workforce of nurses who are established at a higher educational level (AACN 2013). In fact, it has been proven that there are fewer errors in the administering of medications in nurses with their BSN versus nurses with their ADN. It also has been proven that there has been a decrease in death rates and a more overall positive outcome for patients (AACN, 2013).

Conclusion
In conclusion, all nurses, no matter what degree they obtain play a very important role in patient care and in our health care system. In order to improve the nursing profession, it is important to encourage continuing education for all nurses. The focus of healthcare should always be patients first. The qualifications may be different between the BSN and the ADN but when it comes to patient’s safety, there should be no differences. All nurses should enjoy and love what they do and have great compassion for their patients.

    Before designating the differences between the baccalaureate degree prepared nurse and associate degree prepared nurses it is important to examine their similarities.
