Abstract: The Purpuse of the 3.3.4 Now serving project was to gather the information we learned in previous projects such as, the 60 second timer, and other various activities involving asynchronus counters. Also, from this project we would gather valuable information about the 74ls193 and 74ls163 counters, while at the same time showing our knowledge of the circuit implementing we had already learned. We were suppose to Continue progress on the 60 second timer which counted from 00 to 60 on the 7-segement display, then reset once it reaches 60 but only after a switch resets it. But, in the Now Serving project we are required to build the same type of counter but from 00 to 99 one number at at time (at will), while also implementing a switch that can reset the count at anytime. Once we had a perfectly working project we were meant to re-create the circuit in the PLD and transfer it to our FPGA Boards. This would demonstrate our knowledge of both Multisim and PLD. Overall we spent about 2 weeks on this project making sure we had a working Multisim and PLD simulation.

Concepts:
There were various concepts that needed to grasped during this project which was a process at the same time; the main concepts were understand the skill s of using asynchronus counters individually, and being able to incorporate our knowledge with the design process. To do this we need the skills we gained from activities like 3.1.2, 3.2.1, 3.2.1, and 3.3.2. These allowed us to study flip-flops, understand the affects counters have on the timer, and establish the differences and uses of synchronous and asynchronous counters. The Now Serving project fully allows us to demonstrate our skills of every previous project all in one bundle.
