Not all people enjoy a 9-to-5 working day in an office
Most of us got used to the 9-to-5 working scheme. Yet others prefer a more flexible working schedule and go in for freelance jobs. What are the pros and cons of working from home?
On the one hand, freelance is becoming increasingly popular, especially among younger workers, who are more flexible and enthusiastic about having more independence in their work. Another good thing about freelance is that one can be his/her own boss and take initiative instead of being told to do things. What is more, you can adjust your working hours to your individual bio-rhythms and do your work with maximum productivity. And finally, when working on a long-term project, you are able to take a few days off if you feel like it.
On the other hand, working from home requires much self-discipline and courage. To begin with, you must learn to rely fully on solely on yourself. Therefore, if you need an impulse or a command from your boss to begin with your work, you will have to think twice before switching to freelance. In addition, a freelancer must be a highly qualified person, that is, he/she should be able to rely on their expertise as they don’t have experienced colleagues they can turn to for help.
To sum up, I can say that the decision to work from home must be based on your personal qualities and aptitudes. Some find freelance very convenient, while others get snowed under unfinished work and miss working with other people. Personally, I don’t mind doing freelance as I enjoy working on my own and I can always turn to my friends for a chat as well as for a piece of advice.

The specific duties and responsibilities for any IT field vary greatly. With the verse fields that need IT Specialists and Administrators the actual work can be quite different, even day to day. A contract employee may be contracted at multiple businesses and free-lance for the private sector. One may need to assist an elderly person with simply learning how to turn on and off their computer one day and implement an entire network for a local business the next. I believe this fits my personality perfectly, I get bored easily and like to do different things each day. This position has both work at home and travel opportunities, even within the same company. There is the potential to create your own working days and hours in many ways. Since I do not know what the future holds, this is perfect. You can often work as little or often as you wish, by accepting different contracts and assignments within those contracts. You can place yourself on hold, if you’re sick, need to care for family, or simply want a break. You can pick up more work in times that you are restless or need more income. The downsides of such a working lifestyle would be that you are more than likely responsible for your own retirement & insurance. This is not always the case, some companies exist that contract with other businesses so that you do not have to. You then work for them as a regular employee with benefits & you can still enjoy the flexibility, although assumingly there would be stipulations such as a certain amount of on call hours in any given month. With my husband employed in a more traditional workplace, I would not be concerned with benefits as much as…
