NGO’S refer to non-government organisations; these organisations are here to promote sustainability, self-determination and equality on a geographical scale. The Small Business Encyclopedia defines a non-profit organization (NPO) as an institution with a purpose directed at assisting individuals and groups without regard for turning a profit (Nonprofit, n.d.). They are classified as any organization whose charter explicitly prohibits the distribution of profits to members. Moreover, non-profit organizations must demonstrate that they provide a public benefit (Moxham, 2009). Not all non-profits are charitable organizations. 5-4 In an uncertain environment managers should develop plans that are specific but flexible. Managers need to recognize that planning is an ongoing process. The environment is highly uncertain it's important to continue formal planning that contributes to significant performance improvement. Creating a Nonprofit Organization is a difficult task in its self, but adding in political battles along the way causes even more stress and difficulty to the organization. The Love Canal Homeowners Association later called the Center for Health, Environment, and Justice, experienced many complications with their political battle with the government over the chemical waste buried in the Love Canal (Gibbs, “History: Love Canal: The Start of a Movement”). Although at the time the Love Canal Homeowners Association was not official a nonprofit during this specific political battle, they still functioned just like one (“Story”). Their goal was like many nonprofits: wanting a change in policy and government action (“About Us”). The Love Canal Homeowners…

Our society is composed of two sectors a public one which is owned by the government and a private one where it is owned by private individuals. Usually, we have organizations within the economy where one is profit oriented and its main business objective is to make profit from the revenue it tends to make by the end of a certain period, therefore, nothing from the extra money made will be used to develop the business, instead, the profit will go to the owner of the business, adding to that the owner can be giving some of the profit to its employees as a way of motivation according to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs which will eventually affect positively on the business. The other type of organizations is the nonprofit oriented, where it’s main business objective is not to make profit, instead, it is to serve the well being of the society. Usually those nonprofit businesses are owned by the government, which means that all of surplus revenue made by the business will be used for doing certain activities that will develop our society. Usually in this case the government will…

The American Red Cross is a non-profit organization. The American Red Cross was founded by Clara Barton in 1881—127 years ago. Clara Barton established the American Red Cross in Washington DC on May 21, 1881. She was the chief of this organization for twenty three years. The idea came to her after visiting Europe and witnessing how the interactions were with the Swiss-International Red Cross. Ms. Clara Barton wasn’t a nurse, but she was there to help wounded soldiers on the front line. The worse the battle became, more and more soldiers became wounded. With the tragedies of the war it resulted in a shortage of emergency and medical supplies which convinced Barton to think about an organization for emergency relief. Barton’s mission was to gather volunteers to help out with the organization locally and internationally to deliver help to disaster victims.…
