No Child left behind The no child left behind law was signed by President Bush in 2001. This law never took in consideration special education classes that are held in public schools now. The public does not use special need schools anymore or very few at this time. Every student learns differently and achieves at a different speed to the learning process, of every subject that is taught. Great teachers are losing their jobs for they cannot keep up to the high standards with their students in a class room. This law required all paraprofessionals (teacher aids) to have an education of an associates or test out with the state exams. Which one would think anyone working with student in an educational setting would be educated. This cost paraprofessionals more money and still less hourly pay, so they could keep their jobs. This law had expectations of schools to keep an accredited school. Where schools with special education could not keep up with being accredited. For the rule even was applied to children that were and are mentally retarded. Most students that have a I E P (individual education plan) has specials instructions for specific areas of that students learning abilities and disabilities. This I E P gives a student adjustments to their work. With these accommodations the law does not let you administrate them though testing. This means if an IEP states that a child should have accommodations of being read to for they cannot read or understand the information these children do not get that IEP implemented. This will cause a school testing scores to be below what is expected of them to keep accreditation. This law was to improve disadvantage students where one cannot find any proof that it do such.(Editorial Projects In Education, 2013) stated that in 2010 thirty eight percent of schools failed to make the yearly adequate progress, plus fifty percent in 2011. The law was to hold states and their schools accountable for all students progress in reading and math and testing is to be done once a year. Plus testing in science every two years. Schools are required to meet yearly progress so; if it was a school receiving title 1 and if they failed two years in a row, students or more their parents could send their children to other public schools that were accredited. This seems that that district would be spending more money to ship these students to a different school. One program that was an asset to the school was" Reading first" this was a early reading program to help the high poverty areas to better prepare 3-5 year olds. This sounds great until the program was later cut by congress though their budget cuts, but the law of No Child Left Behind stayed the same. This law was to better low income and was to give districts more flexibility for how they used their federal spending money and all it did was make the districts under a microscope and no one was able to see the full picture of what was happening in these districts. These districts try extremely hard to meet all expectations of this No Child Left Behind act. Just yet this law makes it extremely difficult for schools to stay accredited by the government. There has been huge amount of controversy in the house of republicans and with democrats on this No Child left behind act. The Republicans have tried to rewrite this act for they have taken their time to ripped away piece by piece of this act just to make it better for school and states to have more say if these students were getting the education that they needed. The democrats denied the rewrite of the No child left behind act for they felt it would take away the role of the government guaranteeing support to the poor and minority students. The only thing that the republicans and democrats agreed on was that this act has major problems and needed changes (Elliott, 2013). This is about our children getting a well rounded education, but it seems that the government needs to understand this No Child Left behind act is not working for all these students and schools. So, why can it not be fixed. The government thinks it is doing the right thing for all students, but this is hurting schools and great teachers. For these teachers will lose their jobs if they do not make their achievements in the class room with these students. It seems that every student learns in different ways and different speeds so, this law needs drastic changes. It is time that parents stand up and protect their children 's education for with this law the child that has disabilities cannot meet the testing standards. These students I E Ps are not being used while these test are being administrated. Why does the government feel the need to have the act of No Child Left behind? President Bush, thought that this would better educate every child. no matter where they came from if it was low income or lived in the rich part of town. It would have worked if all children were the same. We have a diversity in our country so we are not all the same and do not come from the same rules of being brought up. Not all children have the same wiring in their brains to be taught the same and there is no room to teach them so, they succeed and so that their education is working for them. This law needs to change and quickly for every year it keeps putting schools behind and teachers losing their jobs. This law needs to stay in the public eyes for parents of disabled students really need to know how this is effecting their childs education. For this No Child Left Behind act does not help children with disabilities. For they too are required to take the state tests as any other child does that has no disability. One would think that after all these years this problem would have been fixed. The Government is not accepting that this law is unfit for schools and instead of helping the problem they keep it in place. Time is on the essences for these students. Without this law change no student will receive an education that is helping them to succeed in life. The disabled students will not receive the education that they need. For these students they need more life learning experience, This is more important to teach them so, they will be able to survive in this world. These students need to know how to make a sandwich when no one is around to help them, than how to read a novel. One would think that the government our democrats and republicans could fix this problem of No Child left behind act quickly. This law is leaving our children behind and now it is the time to fix this problem, that the government thinks it can wait. Our future ,these children that will be adults are being punished for some law that no parent or teacher had the right to vote on. Every student learns differently and achieves at a different speed to the learning process, of every subject that is taught. Great teachers are losing their jobs for they cannot keep up to the high standards with their students in a class room.

    This is an extension of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society program (Klein, 2015). Johnson’s heart was in the right place but after being tweaked so many times I think that government bureaucrats lost sight of the reason for the original act by Johnson.
