Nissan Skyline History
The Nissan Skyline was invented in 1957. When it was first made it was was called Prince Skyline by Prince Motor Company in Japan, not Nissan. When it was made it was meant to be a Luxury car, not a tuner car, which is a car that you fix and can put aftermarket parts on that are normally used for street racing. The Skyline was not very popular until it was in an early sixties movie called “Godzilla”. Later on in 1964 the owner of Prince Motor Company decided it was time for the Skyline to get onto a racetrack. They did some major modifications to the earlier models of the Skyline. They put a straight six motor in the car which added an extra 125 hp to the car. Since the car was so successful, they decided to make a variant of the Prince Skyline and called it a Skyline 2000 GT. In 1966, Prince Motor Company decided since Toyota merged with Daihatsu then Prince would merge with Nissan, which evolved the Skyline. At a 1969 Tokyo Auto Show, Prince and Nissan decided to show their new and improved Skyline, the Skyline GT-R. That had about the same amount of success as the R31 then after making the R31,32,33,and the amazing R34 they have now released a new Beast of a car called the Nissan Skyline GT-R R35. The R35 has had so many reviews and all of them say that this car is the best car on the planet. It is the fastest car to start off the line in the world and goes from 0-100 in 2.45 seconds. There have been very little variants of the R35. But the fastest one is the Nissan Skyline GT-R R35 Alpha Omega, which has 2,000hp. Nissan is very proud of their Skyline and has plans to keep making the Skyline forever. The Skyline wasn’t street legal in the U.S until 2008. Now anyone can go to their local Nissan car dealership and buy a brand new Nissan Skyline GT-R R35 for $70,000 today.
