Nietzche's Views On Art
1. I think Nietzche chose to express his ideas in the form of a parable because parables are not a pain to listen to, they are entertaining so they’ll keep the listener’s attention, they include characters who the listeners can relate to. Parables stick in the listener’s head really well, and lessons are better remembered when they are told in a clear sequence. Also in a parable the point and lesson are clearly and directly given, along with consequences and reactions to all that happens previously with any aspect of the situation being taught.
2. Nietzche says that art is our invented escape from the true reality of how flawed the nature of man really is. He says that if we only had science, all those harsh things would be all we would see, which would end in mass suicides. Art allows us to stand above morality and to not be stuck down with the wretched man. Art is our outlet to let us see pleasure and humor in our mistakes, and to not dwell too hard on all our faults. …show more content…
Nietzche has a madman tell the men of his town that they are all the murderers of God- and the only noise anymore is from the gravediggers and the only churches are just tombs for him. I think Nietzche put these powerful words into the mouth of a madman because people tend to think alot about what the crazy ones say- even if at first they themselves don’t believe it. The madman also has an implied special insight into the world- which could be an explanation as to why he would be able to notice they had killed God before the rest of the world. The madman’s words were very true though, for all the sins and errors we humans do not try or care enough to correct fight against God until they killed him. But as the madman says, we cannot see that yet- for our epiphany is to come way down the road of human life, but the madman seems to be implying that until this realization comes we as humans will not (be capable of) changing our ways towards each other..and by that time it will be too
