July splashed with sea life fun! We began the month celebrating America, the land we live in and the land we truly love. We made classroom flags, top hats, USA parfaits and we enjoyed both a picnic and red, white and blue parade as a whole center and celebrated our freedom and lovely land.
We also filled up our room with under the sea fun. We painted sea murals and made big fishes as a class. We continued our sea fun by making boats and having races with them in our sensory table. One of our favorite things this month was the bubbology worksheet. We learned all there was to know about bubbles and we even blew and made some big bubbles. To continue our bubble fun we painted bubbles with watercolor and toilet paper rolls. One of our themed days this month was Hawaiian Luau day! We brought in our favorite fruits to share and made fruit kabobs. We also had lots of fun science activities this month. We made Gak it was messy and slimy fun. We even got to take some home to play with. We also made mystery messages using lemon juice. Another fun day way crazy hair & wacky day! We all got our hair done and decorate guitars! We looked like rockstars!! We continued our fun by making clay creations-we made butterflies, snowmen, snakes, letters, etc. We created our own sculptures and let them dry for a day or two and then we painted designs on them. They are now displaying in our classroom.
We had a lot of fun fieldtrips this month too. We went to the pool and had a blast. It kept us cool the whole day! We also went to the Retzer Nature Center and made a fun craft and went on a hike to the pond where we caught frogs, tadpoles and water flies/bugs. We also went to go pick raspberries and they were yummy. We went to Pizza Hut and took a tour of the kitchen and made our own pizzas.
Some other theme days we had were as follows: Royal Rump and tea party. We decorated crowns and masks. Then we made muffins and enjoyed our lovely tea party. Pirate Day was a blast. We dressed up in our pirate gear and went on a treasure hunt. Game Day was also fun we brought in some of our favorite games in and played with our friends. Candyland day was fun too. We made candy houses and played candy land. Christmas in July was great fun. We played with cotton, clay and “snow” play. PJ day was also one of our favorites! We wore PJs and brought in our favorite books to share with the classroom. Water Works was fun as well. can’t wait to see what August fun will bring.

The outside activity that I chose to do was to visit a museum. The museum in which I visited was the Brandywine River Museum. This museum is located in Chadds Ford PA, which is right outside of Philadelphia, and like the name says it sits right along the Brandywine River. I went to this fine art museum with my sister who lives in the area and we did not take a guided tour, instead we just walked around on our own time and were able to talk about the paintings with each other and express our likes and dislikes of a certain picture or sculpture. The two major collections in this museum were the Jamie Wyeth collection and the Andrew Wyeth: Lines of Thought collection. There was also a heritage collection. The museum itself was in a very beautiful building and the view of the Brandywine River made the experience at the museum much better because there were some pieces in the museum that were similar to the landscape of the outside, which is thought was nice because you could look at a painting then look outside and they almost looked alike due to the painting being done so well.…

I didn’t really do much over the summer. We went to Indiana beach, and I am not too fond of roller coasters, or any ride for that matter, except for at water parks. Last year in 7th grade we went to Washington D.C and saw the washington monument, lincoln memorial, we went inside the Capitol building, The Changing of the Guard at Arlington cemetery, saw The White House. That didn’t really interest me, I don’t even have any souvenirs! Even earlier in the year, we went to Buffalo, New York. We saw a football game (the team we were rooting for lost,(TO THE JETS!) and we got to see Niagara Falls.…

We do our best to incorporate lessons into our activities to make it easier to introduce concepts and reasons behind the holidays and seasons to little kids. More than the fun in creating crafts, we want you to create wonderful memories with your children that will surely stick with them until they grow old. We want to make learning fun and exciting for the kids. And each craft that they make will be a memorabilia of sorts. It can be their token of appreciation or gift for a loved one made more special since they made them with their own two…

I love the way you explained how people celebrated 4th of July in America. It definitely gave us a sense of patriotism and national pride. America have gone a long way. Traditionally, it's to celebrate Independence Day with American flags, red-white-blue, and that whole game. Nowadays, from my perspective, there are some patriotic people. However, for me while growing up, it's more BBQ, pool parties, fireworks, and most importantly red-white-blue & American flags. That's still somewhat patriotic and bring people together as you said, communal celebration. Those celebrations only happen in few times annually and truly united as together and helps us remember that America definitely have gone a long way.…

Mrs.Cotter’s class is really fun. She always has fun activities every day. On the first few days we did the cup game activity. This is where we would take strings tied to a rubber band. We would stretch the rubber band around the cup flip it over and try to stack the cups into a pyramid. We also did the saving sammy project. We had to get the life jacket out from under the boat and put it on Sammy without dropping him. The next project was hard. My partner and I had a string on our wrists with a tangle in between them and we had to break free and we couldn’t take the strings off our wrists.…

In the beginning of the year in November, my entire grade traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania over a mini cruise ship. It was an experience of a trip. On the boat their 3 floors full of drinks and mini cocktails to eat. Their was plenty of seats/tables to sit and chat at. We also were allowed outside of the boat, but sadly it was rainy and really chilly. I remember the best part was the dance floor/dj. It was a casual dress code so it wasn’t anything fancy, but it was still very fun. While traveling to Philadelphia we saw the Liberty Bell, Independence hall, went in the penny museum, saw Benjamin Franklin's grave and many other famous peoples. Another thing that I remember about the trip was that the chaperones were awesome and let us do such much on our own. Our chaperone was one of my friends mom who got us these pretzels that were beyond yummy. It was a blast! The end of the year trip was at the Middletown Pool Club/Ice World. Our whole grade got to go for free as our end of the year graduation present. We swam and tanned all day, played basketball, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. Later on we ate, went skating, then had dessert. Their was hotdogs/hamburgers to eat that i remember were burnt and not so good. The dessert was cookies and ice cream that were delicious to end the…
