Fashion and Amazing District to Reside
Modern Tokyo Time

Tokyo fashion is internationally famous but while Aoyama, Ginza, Harajuku, Omotesando, Shibuya and Shinjuku often hog the limelight, it is equally true that other buzzing fashion districts are far from being in the shadows. This especially applies to Ikebukuro and Yurakucho but in terms of diversity then Ikebukuro is extremely vibrant because of the many angles to this fashion district. Of course, you have many buzzing smaller fashion districts like
Daikanyama, Ebisu, Jiyugaoka, Jingumae, Kichijoji, Koenji, Nakameguro and Shimokitazawa that appeal enormously to Tokyoites and tourists alike. Also, in Ueno you have a vibrant and unique angle to fashion amid all the cultural angles to this individual district. Therefore, it is impossible to state the trendiest fashion district in Tokyo because you have so many to choose from. On top of this, the respective angles and the natural environment will appeal greatly to different individuals.
However, if you adore a vibrant district that is alive and kicking for most of the day and which appeals to various age groups and fashion styles, then Ikebukuro is certainly a rare treat. In 2014 the buzzing district of Ikebukuro continues to grow and attract amazing Japanese and international fashion brands. At the same time, you have a nice street culture on the eastside of this district that mixes various fashion angles. This reality means that while
Harajuku, Jingumae and Omotesando start to become sleepy, the district of Ikebukuro remains alive until the early hours in respect to entertainment and seedier realities.
Lifestyle angles in Ikebukuro are equally intriguing because on the west side you soon enter quiet suburbs where families, individuals, students, the elderly, business people and so forth reside. Indeed, the amazing beauty of Tokyo is often how sleepy

After reading "My Brooklyn, Then and Now" by Wendell Jamieson, I couldn't help but to think of the one line that caught my attention " Plenty of old places are gone, but many thrive. And the new places - the restaurants and bars, of course...have made Brooklyn a destination." Growing up in Ridgewood, Queens I saw many places disappear overtime. I also saw many new places blossom and make this neighborhood quite an attraction. From Norma's bakery that is located just a few blocks away from my house to cool pubs, cafes, bars, modern apartment buildings and restaurants, I am slowly starting to find the Ridgewood that I once thought was boring and dull, quite interesting. I can see Ridgewood becoming the "next big thing". Just like Jamieson said,…

However, with so much freedom on the Internet and an increase in fashion blog sites, the opposite can occur. Thus, Gaimster suggests the more recent reality of “trickle-up theory”, in which trends are started on the streets among lower socioeconomic groups and subcultures—such as bloggers, or anyone who has access to a camera and the Internet. These trends are “spotted and used by designers for inspiration, finding their way onto the catwalks and then into the upper classes of society” (Gaimster 110). With a somewhat ambiguous understanding between whether the elite or the lower class and subcultures inspire new trends, “we can agree that some styles develop in one or more sections of society and the cross over into others (trickle-across theory)” (Gaimster 110). Essentially, the different ways in which a symbol or logo, such as the skull, is incorporated into an outfit may vary according to social group or geographic…
