NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
PURPOSE:
The Telecoms product development process aims to identify and streamline the procedures that take place during the development of a new product. These process activities are critical to achieving time-to-market success with minimal development cost and risk, quality assured at all times and performance monitored on consistently.
SCOPE:
The product development process usually begins with the Commercial/Marketing Plan; the Marketing Segments team puts together a proposition, which results in a Product Concept developed by Products team. The Product Team documents with input from relevant stakeholders the Business Readiness Document (BRD). Using the BRD as a guide, all stakeholders perform their roles in the project i.e. research, product build, technical validation, UAT, etc. till product is launched. A final performance review determines whether product requires enhancements or the process should proceed to ‘Product life cycle Management’.
TELECOMS PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT STAGES:

3. The draft BRD is shared with the Engineering and IT teams for feasibility review, evaluation and feedback.
4. The feedback from IT and Engineering teams is incorporated into the draft BRD thereby producing a final BRD
5. The signed off BRD including the PDD and Notification Document is sent to IT and/or Engineering teams which serves as the guiding document for development. The PDD is a standard document that ensures information required for Product Development is captured adequately.
6. Upon technical readiness, the Product team is invited to

Using the library resources discussed, select a product/service that you would like to write a marketing plan for. You will need to use either Mergent Online or Business Source Elite/Complete Company Profile as part of your analysis, so make sure the company is covered there before you consider it as an option. Submit a paragraph describing the selected product and including specific appropriate details on a possible new idea for that product. Include the name of the industry that the product competes in, along with the SIC or NAICS code appropriate to that product. List either Mergent or Business Source Elite/Complete as your source. As you choose your organization/product, keep in mind that your analysis in this project must lead to new objectives and strategies for the organization or product, not a report of what the company is already doing. Your analysis will also include a discussion of the implementation of your new ideas in detail.…

The traction trebuchet is believed to be an ancient war engine which was invented in China in 300BC. It is thought that the trebuchet may have developed from the stave sling. In the traction trebuchet a large troop of men pulled down on ropes to propel the missile. The trebuchet reached Europe during the Medieval era in 500 AD and was used extensively by the French and the troop of men were replaced with a large fixed, or pivoting, counterbalance weight. The Trebuchet (Trebuchet) was introduced in England in 1216 during the Siege of Dover - as were many other types of siege engine. Louis the Dauphin of France crossed the Channel with a large force and laid siege to Dover Castle making a violent and incessant attack on the walls. He used the trebuchet against the walls of Dover Castle. The constable of Dover castle was Hugh de Burgh - he refused to surrender.…
