New 9-1 GCSE
Abstract:
In 2015 the new 9-1 GCSE English was accredited by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) http://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/gcse-and-a-level-reform/gcse-reform/
The essay addresses the question of how the new 9-1 GCSEs will affect teaching and learning within the subject of English and their impact on accountability measures.
It will apply and critique literature, and research findings in order to come to an informed decision on what practitioners think of the new 9-1 GCSEs.
It argues that the dissociation of exam boards in relation to the teaching of the new GCSE’s unveils how teachers are left to their own devices in regards to teaching and how pedagogical practice may hinder the learners. It concludes
