Network Communications Infrastructure: Effects Of Routing On Current Communication
Scott Lear
IS3120 Network Communications Infrastructure
Unit 1 Assignment 1
Effects of Routing on Current Communication
Methods Used by Organizations

When it comes to Johnson Company’s current communication methods it is blatantly obvious that they are very outdated. I would start by updating their phone system to a digital multiline phone system which utilizes the latest network telephony protocols including VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). There are many vendors who offer multiline digital telephones which would be very useful in bringing the Johnson Company up to speed with their competitors.
Another significant improvement would be to augment their advertising in the phone book with a well-designed website.

To stand out from other businesses, the best thing they can do is maintain their high level of customer service, while implementing changes in technology to keep with the times. With that, they can continue to meet the needs of their current customers. Having a website with 24 hour availability and web ordering, phone ordering, and easy communication methods to the office will help keep them in the race against the competition. They would need to establish a computer ordering system that can have orders submitted from online orders, or have them manually inputted by employees taking orders over the phone or in person.
