Executive Summary.
Banyabindi Community Development Foundation (bcdf) is a community Based Organization formed in 2007, based at St Mark Church of Uganda in Kinyamaseke Town Board, Kasese District in the Rwenzori mountain region about 7km to the Mpondwe Customs Ugandan border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to implement activities and programmes which were affecting the ever increasing number of orphans and vulnerable persons due to Civil wars, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, STIs and other Communicable diseases rampant in our localities. Death of parents and guardians as a result of the fore mentioned has been coupled with natural catastrophes such as earthquakes, weather conditions and other natural calamities which have not only left parents dead, but also living helpless infant/ Children. bcdf is currently implementing child protection, care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS, HIV/AIDS prevention among children and young people, HIV/AIDS mainstreaming at work place and sustainable livelihood in Munkunyu and Nyakiyumbu Sub County.
However, sustainable livelihood, home based care, support groups’ activities are not currently running since we have not yet been able to identify and partner with main funders for those interventions. It’s against this background that bcdf is looking forward to the basket fund to take up the above activities, with much emphasis put on the OVC’s Education support.

Even for the would be way of survival in terms of agriculture produce, bcdf is intending to working with partner CBOs and funders to implement programs like providing food and clothing, supporting the education of Orphans and Vulnerable

These three goals are safety, well-being, and permanency. At first, I really thought that it would just be the same feeling I felt before when I was still a Rotaractor in the district of Manila but it is indeed different, the experience is priceless. The whole experience was so heart-warming and from that experience I’ve learned a lot. First, you can feel the Christmas spirit anytime of the year even if it is not yet on season. Having a community service there with some of the kids is like celebrating Christmas emphasizing the joy of loving and giving. The Christmas is in my heart; the nursing of those little kids, the playing with them, and the giving of gifts to them are just some of the affirmation of the true spirit of Christmas I felt while doing the service. Second, all that we have is indeed a great gift from our Loving Father. Through this activity, I’ve come to realized how lucky we are to have our loving parents with us in our lives. The kids made me more love my parents and appreciate every single thing they’re doing for us, their children. Third, these kids are not sinister instead they are so lucky. They are lucky for they have been saved from experiencing a more hurtful one and are now being taken cared of those people who are all so warm and caring. They are lucky for they have bunch of sisters and brothers who will heed them every time they needed them the most and unlike their parents, will never leave their side. Fourth, the true essence of love. Even if we just had a short time bonding with them, I had learned the true essence of love. That you can give your love even to those who you just met and make friends with. And that love is the best thing you can give to someone unconditionally. It is the greatest gift you can share with especially to those who is in need of it. Lastly, I’ve learned how intelligent God is that everything he makes is made for a special purpose.…
