Under Capitalism, David Nederlander was free to invest his money into a new business by leasing the Detroit Opera House back in 1912. David was not encumbered by Government or outside control in how he managed his business, how much he charged for ticket prices or how much he paid performers. From then on he and his family cultivated relationships with Artists, Musicians and Theater Groups. As his business grew so did his reputation as one of the best promoters in the …show more content…
They learned there is a subset of concert patrons willing to pay more for a smaller, more intimate concert setting over the crowded, stuffed to capacity stadium shows. If they provided state of the art lighting and sound systems, operated efficiently and sold the tickets at the right price point they could operate a niche market practically no one was marketing to. Armed with this information Nederlander formed Nederlander Concerts, "A boutique event promotion firm, whom exclusively operates and programs the most coveted and awarded small to mid-size venues in the Western United States" (2014). Per the Nederlander official site, David T. Nederlander started the journey into entertainment in 1912 when he purchased a lease of 99 years with a Detroit opera house. Since then the Nederlander name has been very well known in the entertainment world. Nederlander’s main goal is to expand and keep the theatre world alive by creating a happy and loyal customer base. He began to realize that the theatrics need to catch up to the times in technology. One of the new fads seems to be rewards programs. There are many stores such as Wal-Mart, Maurice's, and Price Chopper that have a rewards card program. This is a program offered to frequent shoppers. As you check out you simply swipe your card and for every dollar spent you receive a certain amount…

Broach Theater’s current customer base in an aging population that has caused revenues to steadily decline in the recent years. Stephen Gee, manager and creative director, is responsible for many of the business functions which has led to inefficiencies and lost profit potential. Not only was Gee responsible for all of the marketing efforts, he also cleaned the theater, chose the plays, did the books, and handled the actors. The Concert (A Musical Party) is an oil on canvas, Baroque period painting completed by the Flemish painter Theodoor Rombouts circa 1620. The work portrays a group of five costumed musicians around a table covered with a Persian tapestry rug. Of the five performers, there are four men and one woman. The four men are playing various instruments, the woman appearing to be the vocalist. The play of deep shadows and bright highlights present in this painting make the overall use of chiaroscuro more pronounced, reflecting the strong influence of Caravaggio, a revolutionary Italian painter who Rombouts studied under. Caravaggio’s works, which combine the realistic rendering of the human state with a dramatic use of lighting, had a formative effect…

Nederlander Concerts is a family-owned company located in LA, one of the two biggest markets in the concert industry. The right to own a business allowed Nederlader Concerts to start a business in the USA back in 1926. Being free to make choices on what to produce, Nederlander Concerts became an expert at producing and presenting the best concert events in small venues. The company owns and runs the Greek Theatre, the San Jose Civic and Barbara Bowl, which is supported by the right to private property. To be competitive in the concert industry, Nederlander has created their own practical economic model, which allows them to acquire top talent, delivers great concerts and keeps all parties (tickets buyers, artists, own team) satisfied. The right to keep after–tax profit allowed Nederlader Concerts to invest, to grow and to become one of the most respected, recognized and successful concert management companies.…

It was Monday, November 17 cold and snowy outside Ophelia Paris Concert Hall, Truman State University but inside it was all warmth and light as Elaine AuBuchon started the Double Reed Recital. Having not been to any actual classical music concert, I was excited to hear the talent that we have in our campus. I took it upon myself to go with an open mind, without having any previous predispositions that would affect my reaction to the concert. I just wanted to go in there, not knowing anything about the concert, and see what I hear in the music. This concert was open to anyone and free admission. The program presented a variety of styles…

Collaboration dance pieces are always a joy to watch, especially when the performers dance as if it was their last performance. On December 11, 2013, I had a chance to witness the Collaboration Concert of the dance departments of the two phenomenal schools of Cass Technical High School and Renaissance High School. And may I state, both schools brought the talent that resembles that of professionals. The concert involved thirteen performances of the young, but talented dancers. Renaissance Dance Workshop, Cass Tech Dance Workshop, Renaissance Dance 5, Cass Tech Dance 5, and Cass Tech Dance 3 performed.…
