I really liked your speech about the new school year, so I decided that I should write about it. This is a letter that I’d like Barack Obama to read.
The author’s purpose in this speech is to inform students about the school year that’s arriving at the high school. Obama went to the Wakefield High School’s student’s parents to make sure that they are ready for the new school year. He told the parents that he wants the students to get their homework done each night, instead of spending the homework time on TV and Xbox. He said that because the time for that was during the summer which was finished. Mr. President also went to all of the professors. All he wanted to tell them was to make sure to push the students so they could be a good source for the United States. Lastly he told the students that he wants to see high grades from freshmen to seniors.
I have two small questions for Mr. President. In your speech he said that his mother home school him. He had to wake up at 4:30 each morning and go to class which was in his house kitchen. The reason why he had to do that was because his mother didn’t have enough money to pay for him to go to an American school. Here is my first question is: “How did you feel back then?” His mother homeschooled him Obama's house kitchen which is a disadvantage compared to others that went to a normal public or private school. Also his mother was teaching him. Also his dad left him when he was two years old. So my question is: “Did you feel like you had a disadvantage, become the president compared to others?"
In Mr. President’s speech you mentioned a lot of jobs people want to become in the future. One of the jobs he mentioned was architect. I wanted to become an architect since I was 5 years old. When an important person say something that you like also makes me feel important.
I have two big questions for Mr. President which are outside of his speech. First: “How did you become the first black president in history?” In his speech he said that his mother homeschooled him. So how did he end up president? My next question is

Hello, I am so honored to speak in front of all the parents, staff and my fellow students today. Wow guys we made it! These past 3 years have been full of so many memories that I know we’ll never forget. Think all the way back to 6th grade we were always the littlest ones and I remember feeling like a fish out of water. We were terrified of getting lost or being late for class, but excited to have a locker to decorate and change classes each period. It doesn’t seem like that was over 2 years ago at all. We came back in 7th grade, much more confident than the year before. We looked down to the new 6th graders, asking "Were we really that short just last year?" And by the end of 7th grade I was shocked that I was officially an 8th grader. 8th grade is defiantly my favorite year. I feel like I have everything under control. But next year is full of changes. We'll have free periods, more homework, electives, and an open campus. The new choices also bring new responsibilities that test us in figuring out how we grow from kids to adults. As we say goodbye on the last day we sit together as Balboa students, we reflect on what has happened the past 3 years, but also look forward to what is coming up in the next 4 years. My advice to future 8th graders is to keep up with your school work and try your absolute best and make lots of good, loyal friends that don’t get you in the bad kind of crowd. And most importantly, have fun! This is the last year you will be the oldest in the school for another 4 years, so enjoy it! For 2013 address, the president stated his plans starting with reducing the U.S deficit and debt. However, he emphasizes that the reduction of deficit alone is not an economic plan. The composition of the speech isn’t complex or difficult to follow – it’s structure is very simple with an introduction, the message of the speech supported by different arguments and at last an ending with a short summary of what he just said.
