NASA TREK 2013

It all began in 25.06.13. It was the day of my flight to USA. I was going with a few students of my school and 2 other schools. I had finished all my packaging on time. I was very excited about this tour. This tour consisted of 11 days at Orlando, Florida. I got ready and headed to the airport where I met the other students. From our school, Nazneen Akhtar Mam was going with us and Maria Mam who is the Principal of the City School was also going with us. Mizan sir from hakil too went with us. They gave us instruction to do or not do at this tour. We heard them carefully and then said goodbye to our parents. We got some group photos and then headed for check in. After checking in, we passed the immigration and then waited for the plane. Our flight was 5 hour 30 minutes late. So, we had our dinner at the airport at Spice Restaurant. After we waited for a long time, the plane finally reached Dhaka Airport. We were going by Qatar Airways. The wait of about 1 year was finally over. We boarded the plane and in a short time we took off. After staying about 5 hours in air we reached the Doha Airport. The Transit time was very less due to the delay in Dhaka Airport. Once again we boarded a Qatar Airways plane and took off. We first passed the Middle East, they journey was or 12 hours.

Then went through African and Europe next we crossed the Atlantic Ocean and finally we had reached at New York. We had landed at JFK Airport (John of Kennedy). After a hour of transit at JFK, we took a Jet Blue domestic flight to Orlando. After like about 3 hours, we finally reached at Orlando Airport. There we met two more of our escorts. We went to hotel by bus. Our hotel was very good. Its name was Rosen Inn. After reaching hotel, we got our rooms. It was late at night and everyone was very tired. We went to our rooms and sleep quickly. The very next day was for shopping. We got wake up call and went for breakfast at the hotel. After having breakfast, we got ready and two big vans took us to ‘Best Buy’ which is an electronic store. There were many electronic goods to buy from there. We spent a lot of money buying these goods. We met our escorts thee. It was Mizan Sir, Avan Sir and that day we had our lunch at Mc Donald’s. After that our escorts took us to Florida Mall. We were very excited in shopping there. There were many shops including sears, DC penny, Game Stop, Adidas Originals, Aerosols, Nike, and Puma etc. We also went to M&MS World in Florida Mall. We bought a lot of products and then went to have our dinner at an Indian Restaurant. We returned to the hotel and slept. The next day, we got ready and headed for sea world. The escorts gave us coupons to have our lunch in Sea World Restaurants. We all first rode Wild Arctic ride in Sea World. It was simulator ride in which we flew in a helicopter and saw the different animals of the Arctic. Then everyone rode Manta and Kraken, which are two very thrilling rollercoaster. Slowly everyone in the team got separated into small groups. I, was with my best friend Shadman. I first went to the Antarctica Empire of the penguins’ ride with Shadman. It was a very cold ride where we saw the life of a penguin and many other penguins behind glass. We had our lunch in `Expedition Cafe’. The restaurant was decorated as Antarctica and the food was also very good. After we had our lunch, it started to rain. So, I went to see the indoor shows with Shadman. First we saw the Shamu’s Show; where killer whales do many tricks. Then we saw the Dolphin’s ‘Blue Horizon’s show. Next, we saw a show in which people were dressed as fish. At last, we saw the ‘Pet’s Ahoy’ show. For me that was the best show because, many different pets did very funny tricks. After that everyone met each other at the main gate and returned to the hotel. We changed our dresses and went to have our dinner at the Indian restaurant once again. We slept in our hotel and wake up the next day. At morning, after having breakfast, we did swimming at the hotel’s swimming pool. Then we went to Orlando Disneyland.

The escorts divided us in groups of three of four. In our group, there was three people Shadman, Fardin and Me. They gave us $15 to each student for having lunch. After entering Disneyland, we first went to space mountain indoor rollercoaster. Then we saw the presidents of America show and learned a lot of America’s history. Next we went to Splash Mountain 75m high drop in water. We had our lunch and went to the Grand Canyon rollercoaster. When it became night, we saw the electrical parade and then enjoyed the magical fireworks. After that, we came to the parking lot by a ferry and met other students and escorts. We went back to the hotel and had our dinner. The next day was going to be our first day at NASA. After taking breakfast, we headed for Kennedy Space Centre visitor complex by bus. We always stayed in our single group. First, we went to Space Shuttle Simulator where we experienced riding a rocket and learned many things. Then we went to early space exploration and the newly opened ‘Atlantis’ section. In the ‘Atlantis section, we saw many presentation on the retired Atlantis space shuttle. Then we saw the Atlantis space shuttle itself which went in 33 missions in space. We had our lunch. Then we went with astronaut Jr. Reilly to WALMART for shopping. After buying a lot of things, we went to subway to have dinner. We went back to the hotel and woke up the next day and had our breakfast. Then we went to Kennedy Space Centre visitor complex once again. First we saw a movie about Space in IMAX Theatre. Then we went to Angry birds space encounter and had a lot of fun. Next, we went to Astronaut encounter; where we saw a presentation on what can we explore in the future. We had our lunch in Orbit Cafe. Then we started the Kennedy Space Centre guided tours. We went on board of a bus and then the bus took us to the launch pad of NASA, where rockets took off and went to outer space. After that, the bus took us to ‘Astronauts- Hall of Fame’. There we learned many histories of astronauts and saw two shows. We also experienced many things. Then we saw the world’s strongest machine Apollo 11. This was the first rocket which was successful in taking humans to space. We also touched some moon rocks over there. Later we went to Cocoa beach of Miami by bus. We had a lot of fun. Then we had our lunch in Del Taco Mexican Restaurant. After that, we returned to the hotel feeling very tired. After having breakfast the next day, we headed for Universal Studios. We went there by bus. We were going to the Islands of Adventure part of Universal Studios the first day. At first we saw a presentation on Universal Studios in a lounge. Then everyone rode the Incredible Hulk Rollercoaster. After that, we role many other rides such as the amazing adventure of Spiderman, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Jurassic Park river adventure and Doctor Doom’s Fear fall. We had our dinner is Subway. Then we came back to the hotel and slept. The next day, we again came to Universal Studios. First everyone rode the Rip Ride Rocket rollercoaster. Then we rode other rides such as Shriek 4D, Revenge of the Mummy rollercoaster, Transformers the ride 3D, Disaster, MIB alien attack, Terminator 2 3D etc. After having dinner in Burger King. We went to the hotel. Next day was our flight back to Dhaka. Before our flight, we had a lot of time. So, we went to Prime Outlets for shopping. After having our lunch in Taco Bell, we headed to the airport Our flight was all on time. We came back completely like the time when we went to Orlando. At Dhaka Airport, everyone was sad to leave their friends and teachers and go home I reached my home safely. I will miss everyone in this tour a lot.

The hotel we were staying at was called The Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, Hawaii with my family. We had planned this 5 day trip 3 months in advance. The trip was spontaneous. We took the opportunity since my family and I been wanting to go for such a long time. As soon as we arrived to our hotel they greeted us with " Aloha," and with a leis. The weather was humid and moist. It was always 85 degrees every day. The hours there were different because of the 2 hour behind difference. For an example, it was 6 p.m. in Hawaii and in California 8 p.m. On the first night we were so tired from the flight and the whole time difference, we just stayed at the hotel and ate at a buffet they had in the hotel lobby. The Mars Space Missions

Mars Mission has been a crucial issue all over the world since the beginning of space studies. Mars Mission means that send astronauts with spacecraft to space with purpose of finding new settlement place and searching possibilities of Mars for humanity. Several studies have been done for providing this mission since 1960s. Elkins and Tanton stated, “ Between 1960 and 2004 the USA and Russia launched a total of 46 missions to Mars, 30 of which failed completely, four of which returned some data but did not complete their missions and 12 of which were successes,” (2006, p. 147). The issue of whether to implement Mars Mission or not is significantly debatable. Although it has been asserted that Mars Mission is a necessity for the survival of mankind, temperatures are not suitable to life on the red planet and there are enormous dust storms, possibility of life on Mars may brings about serious biological risk as well as safety problems and Mars’ atmosphere is thin and it does not have magnetic field; hence this mission should be changed with another space mission.…

    | Should the U.S. Government Support A Manned Space Program at the Expense of the U.S. Tax Payers?1. The Man In Space ControversyShould the United States support a "Man In Space" program? Opinions here diverge, with opponents and proponents presenting strong arguments on both sides. The opponents like to point out how enormously expensive manned space operations are with every shuttle flight costing tax payers some $500,000,000 and with the anticipated bill for the international space station expected to be $35-40 billion dollars. They also think that the returns from such space investments so far don't justify the expense. They suspect that many of the tests on new materials and purer crystals could somehow be performed on earth for much lower costs, either through automated systems on less-expensive unmanned rockets or even in laboratories. They further state that in their opinion it is reckless to spend such enormous sums of money on something with uncertain return when there are so many unmet needs here on earth. The proponents of manned space programs have a difficult time countering these strong arguments. However, they point out that the space shuttle now exists, so we might as well make use of it. They believe that the new materials created in the space environment may prove extremely useful, and that the perfect crystals which cannot be made in earth's gravity will allow us to decipher the molecular structure of viruses. Thus, they may help us create powerful new drugs, perhaps overcoming critical diseases, even AIDS. Furthermore, they state that the space station, which represents the first truly international endeavor on a great scale, will promote cooperation and understanding between nations and will help eliminate future wars.Taking a broader view, there is no doubt that exploration of new lands and conquests of new frontiers have always been creative forces throughout the history of humanity, and have promoted the advancement of knowledge…

After I’m done with my work, I took an airplane to come back to the Philippines to have my vacation. I’ve seated at the middle side of the plane. When the airplane started to fly, a stewardess came. That stewardess guided us. As I look at her, I’ve noticed that she is my former batch mate, YOLLYCAR CALISIN. I called her and had a talk with her. She told me that the pilots of this airplane are also my former batch mates, CARLO ALARZAR and JAYNER BOLANTE. After the trip, we landed at PIA (Paquia International Airport). I’ve noticed that the name of the airport is very familiar to me. So I went inside the airport, I saw a man who is walking around there. I knew that he is GILBERT PAQUIA, the owner of the airport. After that, I drove a car and went to the hotel. I entered that hotel and went to the front desk of the hotel and talked to the desk officer. But I was wrong, because it was the owner of the hotel. As he faced me, I was surprised, because it was RONALD ABARIENTOS, the owner and manager of the said hotel. He guided me to my room. I entered to my room and put my bags aside. I lay on my bed and opened the television. I saw a news on television. I was shocked that the newscaster is my former batch mate, JOY DATUN. Her news says that the representative of the Philippines won in an International Hip-Hop Dance Competition. And I was amazed that the members of the group are my former batch…
