Narrative on Car Accident
Car Accident "A car is not the only thing that can be recalled by its maker." (Unknown) I used to be the kind of person who thought nothing could ever hurt me, until a normal morning turned into a disaster, which made me realize that life can be taken abruptly. My significant event is my car accident. After waving goodbye to my parents, I was off to school on a beautiful spring morning. It was a fifteen minute drive on gravel roads to get to my high school. My high school was a brick red building that stood high against the sky, and even though I didn't like going to school, I liked the building itself. I remember listening that day to Alanis Morisette, looking at the birth of wild daisies freshly blossoming on the side of the road. Then, all of a sudden, I heard a loud popping noise, which was the driver's side tire blowing out. That's when everything spun out of control. I remember hearing the Chevy pickup pitting up gravel as it starts to lose control. It headed straight for the ditch and rolled five times and smashed into a light pole. Soon after the pickup started to roll, I was knocked unconscious. When I woke up, I was lying on the floor of the pickup and have sharp pains shooting up my back. A neighbor who was checking his field saw the entire event and rushed to help me. He took me to the emergency room, and I was released with minor cuts, bruises, and a brace for my back. Later that week one of my shoes and my school bag were found lying in a field fifty feet from where the pickup had rolled. After that day, I came to realize that life is too precious to be taken for granted. I try to take each day and make it worthwhile. When my history teacher gives me reading homework, I rejoice in the fact I am here to read it at all, and that I can learn, instead of being a vegetable in the hospital like so many are after terrible car accidents. I live every day like it is my last because I now realize that the Maker is able to recall the

One night we were at Emili Lewis’s house. A few of us girls wanted to try to stay up all night. It had been raining so we decided we wanted to go for a drive. This point of the night it was like 1:30 a.m. We drove for a little while before we got bored. We decided to brainstorm some ideas of stuff to do. We decided we wanted to go out to Box Canyon in Kaitlin’s truck to look at the stars. It took us a little while to get everything put together. We finally started heading out there at 3:00 a.m. On the way out there we passed a truck. The truck was very short, matte black, and had a circle light bar in between the headlights. None of us recognized the truck and we got a little nervous. We decided to ignore it and keep going. For the rest of the drive we talked about boys, problems, and then we started talking about scary stuff. When we got out there we were too scared to get out of the truck, so we turned around and started back into town. We got…

That was the day that my grandpa passed away. Every single part of that date is engrained in my memory. My parents had driven up to Wisconsin, and my older sister Lauren drove home for college to stay with me. It wasn’t out of the normal for my parents to quickly leave, so I didn’t think much of it. I remember going to hang out with Tatum, my best friend of the time. It was a nice day outside, so of course we were outside playing on the trampoline and doing all our weird routines like we always did. Her family, who was like a second family to me, decided to go out to eat so they brought me along. We went to La Charitas. I remember how Mrs. Teeple pulled out a funny card game for us to play, and I remember Tatum cutting out faces in her tortilla, making us all laugh. When we got back to the house we saw that my sister called, so I said bye to the Teeples and walked one minute down the road to my house. Lauren, who is one of the most emotional in the family, was left with the task of telling me that my grandpa had passed away. I had just grabbed a snack of chocolate cheerios as she started to tell me the news. I didn’t know how to react, so I ran into the basement directly to the furthest corner I could find. Lauren tried talking to me, but I wanted to be by myself. One of the hardest things I have ever done was talking to my dad on the phone after finding out. He called to tell me the plans, that he was coming home to get us, and…

I never thought me, of all people, would experience such a sorrowful day. I have tried to forget it time and time again; but the reality is I will always remember every miniscule detail, moment, word, and facial expression on that particular day. My heart managed to shatter into a million pieces, leaving me without a reason to pursue my existence. My salty tears freely rolled down my warm cheeks, causing my eyes to burn sensationally. I remember mourning on the comforting shoulders of my family members, as they too were consumed by their feelings. The most valuable lesson that beared a reservation in my spirit was to cherish every moment and loved one, for tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. I wish I could have fathom this reality before the climactic tragedy struck me like a ton of bricks. Although death is normal, it seemed almost foreign when it abducted the life of my favorite uncle.…

I immediately get out of the passenger door and run to my dad and give him a big hug. I hop up into my dad’s white, Chevy truck, sobbing my eyes out, still hysterical of what happened and can’t quite catch a grasp on it. My dad talks for about five minutes to the Deputy Sheriff and Mr. Schimp, asking if I will still be able to pass Driver’s Ed, even though I thought it would be better for myself to quit , so I never had to get back to…

The sky was nice and clear. It wasn’t too hot or too cold. It was perfect. It was a typical third grade day. My friends and I were in recess, goofing around, having fun. We sat on the benches and joked around. Next thing I knew my friend was on my back and I was carrying him around. Not aware of my surroundings, I tripped over a bench, closed my eyes, braced for impact, and fell face first into the dirt. I got up feeling dazed and the first thing I hear is a scream. Confused, I looked over to my friend and her face was a mixture of scared and shocked. I saw friends run to the restroom to get me paper towels, but others told me to go to the office. As I walked to the office, I began to feel pain in my lip. I walked into the office speechless.…

We were almost through the state of North Carolina as we traveled on Interstate 95. It was rush hour and you could tell everyone was antsy and excited to get home. Cars traveled at 80 miles per hour, and some were even traveling faster than that. I could now see why it was ranked the fifth worst highway in North America. Cars were weaving in and out of traffic at over 90 miles per hour. Traffic was getting heavy. Listening to the radio, my dad and I sang along to a familiar song we both knew, “Yeah” by Usher. “Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!”, we both sang while he drove. My dad always loved this song, so we had the radio turned almost all the way up. The song ended and we turned the radio down. We had already been on the road for ten hours so we were beginning to get a little tired. It was almost 5:00 in the evening and we did not eat lunch, so we were both getting hungry as well. “Where do you want to stop for dinner?”, I asked him. My dad looked at the food signs next to the highway as I looked up places on my phone where we could grab a bite. Just as I was about to name off a few places where we could go, my phone flew out of my hand and my head jolted forward.…

When I was in fifth grade (12years old) I was at a friend's house for the first time. We make it up the first flight of stairs but at the top of the second flight is a very narrow hallway and you had to take a sharp right turn to get to her room and I tripped and fell hard on the wood stairs, she was already in her room screaming at me to get up but I couldn't…

In five years I will be twenty-two years old I will have completed my bachelor's degree. I hope to be in a Master's program or working my way up in the graphic design corporate ladder. In this moment I have a bright future but all of that could change in a blink of an eye. If I were to go to a party and drink, the responsible thing to do would be to call a cab or a trusted friend. However, if I made the poor decision to drive regardless, the impacts of such a decision could affect me for the rest of my life. Drunk driving is a criminal offense that can carry stiff fines and jail time. Since I am currently under twenty one the charge I would face would be different than if I was twenty one or older. The penalties include license suspension for…

Two months after I get my driver’s license, I get my very first speeding ticket. What a great way to start out driving, right? Well my parents didn’t think so. So, I’m driving home from school on this I guess you could call it a “hilly” road where the bumps are fun to ride over when speeding. It was all fun and games until I spot the cop parked at the end of the street just watching me. There was no use in slowing down. I knew he’d already clocked me at 50 in a 25. There wasn’t anyone on the road besides me, but in the passenger seat sat my best friend. I was also driving through a neighborhood. I put a lot of people in danger. I know the whole situation could have been retained if I had followed the law.…

My dad took a swing and my leg suddenly unbroke and I ran for dear life. Of courses he eventually caught up with me and I sore for about a week straight.…

So overall this story may have not been all that stimulating, but it is one of the stories I recall the best. It happened fairly recently and I always laugh when I think of my brother not realizing we had a wreck because he was asleep! I also suspect you may be wondering what happened to the car and if you're not, then your should stop reading this and give me an A, but in all seriousness our beloved family car did survive...for about a month then we traded it in for a grey…
