Narrative Of My Coworker By Alex Sherman
The story begins with me describing the last day of school. The next day included me waking up early and going to the first day of my job. I described how I commuted to work and what I saw. As I arrived to work I was immediately introduced to all of the staff and welcomed onto the team. I originally become very overwhelmed with the amount of work that was given to me.

My story contains myself and my coworker, Alex Sherman.

The most essential details are that I am very dedicated to whatever I do. As I was given a lot of work on my first day, I was hesitant in saying that I was overwhelmed. I was worried to tell my coworker that I needed help, so I continued to work. I continued doing my job for hours, until finding out that I wasted my time, as I did it all wrong.

I worked in a medical office in the marketing department. I worked with the head marketer as his assistant. My job consisted of talking to various doctors and lawyers throughout New York endeavoring to establish some relationships that would ultimately result them in referring their patients to our facility.

The most humorous details are the different experiences I had commuting to and from work. One day I was almost robbed on my way to work. Some stranger came up to me and asked me if my purse was expensive. Originally, I didn't respond to him, but then he persisted to grab my purse. Then a group of older men attacked him and I got my purse back and the thief got arrested.

My story ends with me fitting into my job and enjoying it. Eventually, I asked my coworker for assistance and at the end of the day I could easily complete all my

I was in a Starbucks one morning and in front of me was a woman on her cell phone. She was laughing and caring on a conversation in Spanish. She was not paying any attention to what was going on around her. A woman asked if she was in line and then the woman having the conversation said yes and moved up to the counter. She continued her conversation on her phone while the person on the other side of the counter waited for her to order. Finally, the person behind the counter asked what he could get her. She ordered a coffee, she realized that she then had to pay for the coffee and started to fumble through her purse. Continuing with her conversation, she moved on to the side of the counter.…

If given the opportunity to correct a mistake from my past, appreciating my curves in my childhood is the first slip up that comes to my mind. Rejecting my wide hips and thick thighs,I longed to have a slender figure not unlike my friends. Ultimately, I purchased one of Shaun T’s workout systems called “Insanity” in the seventh grade. Despite the obvious signs of exhaustion that my body exhibited, I kept pushing myself to endure three workouts a day. I set intangible goals for myself such as losing ten pounds a week. After three and a half months of consistently following Shaun T’s program, I was found heavily wheezing in my sleep during my mother’s nightly rounds to check on my siblings and I. Soon after, I began to feel claustrophobic, as…

For this assignment I originally was going to interview someone from the Iowa Speedway, but it was kind of hard to find a good contact that could take the time to talk with me. Then I remembered that my uncle, Luke Stand, has been a hockey lover all his life and knew he had a few positions as a sports business professional and coach. So I gave him a phone call and discussed his past and present in sports.…

“Set….” there was a long pause, I felt a cold breeze of air whisk past my hair. The time for fun and game was over., Iit was time to get serious. I heard the a loud BANG! As I got into my running, emotions filled my body, I knew that it was time to give it my all. As I approached the first 100 meters of the race, I was at the back of the field, it was at this precise moment that Roger Bannister’s famous words “Pain is temporary” resonated in my mind. I began to pick it up by the 200 meter mark, I was representing my team, I can’t lose. By the 300 meter mark, I began to pass people, from a spectator’s view, it was like watching a rabbit destroy a field of tall, black bears. As I approached the line, I blacked out.…

I had mentioned to my Supervisor how much he makes, and that his wife must make a lot, because the Supervisor had mentioned various times that his wife worked at a school. I know that school jobs are part of the government, so they pay well. Also, my sister was a school teacher, and she made good money. I mentioned that to him to show him that he makes a lot with two incomes (his and his wife's together). I just make about $10,000 net pay a year. He's already doing well, especially with two incomes in the household. While I am just starting out with a degree trying to better myself and obtain a higher paying job. Yet, my Supervisor has the key to allowing me to progress or not by giving me a good or a bad reference. I realize he doesn't like me, but if he gives me a good reference, than I can get another job elsewhere, outside of Charter, or in a…

I was questioning myself when I read about the four job options from Joanne B. Ciulla’s Work and Life. I chose the “a well-paying position in an accounting firm” with a little surprised (Ciulla, 83). I know I want to earn more money, but I do not expect that I put money in the first place when I choose a job. However, it is true and I cannot ignore it. Money is quite important when we live in this world. As Epicurus said, “Wherefore both when young and old a man must study philosophy, that as he grows old he may be young in blessings through the grateful recollection of what has been, and that fin youth he may be old as well, since he will know no fear of what is to come” (Epicurus, 84). How a youth can no fear of what is to come? I can think…

The story that I chose is one I heard from a friend about a dog and the rusty nail. Everyday a man would walk past his neighbor’s porch and the dog was always sitting in one spot howling in pain. Eventually one day when the man walked by again and the dog was in the same spot howling, he stopped and asked the owner, “Why is your dog always howling like he’s hurt?” The neighbor replied, “My dog has been sitting on a rusty nail for weeks now.” The curious man questioned, “Why doesn’t the dog just move off of the nail?” The owner replied to him, “I guess it just doesn’t hurt badly enough for him to move.”…

“The Storyteller,” by Sandra Cisneros was an enjoyable read that took us along her adventure of becoming a writer. She talks about the many important parts in her life that set the right path for her success. How other friends, family, and other people were of a help to her rising in her career. Thought the article she would describe her self as “she”, which in other words, Cisneros would be talking from a third person point of view. This technique gave the reader the sense that she was telling us a story about someone life, almost like narrating. Which may explain the title of her article. Through her passive tone and storytelling sense it made me consider the career to be a writer. Like when a mom tells a story about a great knight to her…

I am going to write about outstanding teacher I met long time ago. At that time, I was in 8th grade, and then I transferred to new school. That school was high school, so there was full of newly enrolled students. I never forget first day of my school. Our new English teacher entered in classroom and gave us copies of a passage. I almost did not understand the meaning of it. When I was trying to understand the first sentence of that passage, half of students in that class said that they were ready to give a speech about the whole passage. I thought that I was pretty good at English in my previous school, but this incident proved that I only had knowledge of elementary English.…
