Narrative Essay On Stitches
The day was Sunday, a day where our very fine Broncos played against the Ravens, a very tough match. It was about half way through the game, and the score was 10-9, Ravens, and my Dad and I were really in the mood for some queso and dip. I went to my kitchen getting tired of waiting for my sister to get us some, and take out a glass bowl, not thinking much of it because we have microwaved with it before. Little did I know that I would pay for it later. I grabbed the cheese and poured a very generous amount into the bowl, but I knew my family could eat it. Then I put it into the microwave and set it for one minute. While I was waiting, I got the chips ready. I heard a beep! and knew that the cheese was ready. I hurried to grab it, but set it down quickly because it was smoldering hot! I grabbed it with one hand and rested it against my chest, wanting to only have to …show more content…
Now, my mom is not the best judge of injuries, so she start convincing me, and herself that I might need stitches.
“ She doesn’t need stitches!” My dad says enthusiastically.
“ You don’t know that Bob,” My mom replies.
My dad eventually convinced her that wrapping it up would be the best idea, but only because he suggested super gluing it shut himself! The bleed had then stopped, and we wrapped the cut up with gauze and tape.
Even though the cut was small, it was deep, and it stung very badly. I put my other hand on ice, because it was burned. I thought about what good had come from this, but the only thing I could think about was when this would be healed, and if I would have a scar.

It turns out that I did not need stitches, but that I will have a scar. I do not know how long it will be affected, but we are keeping the burn cool, and are caring for the cut. The cut is actually pretty small, and i think it would have already scabbed, if not for its depth. This event actually happened very recently, happening only

This 4th of July, I invited my best friend Sara and her husband for a dinner at my house. For dinner we decided to bake chicken and lamb chops with side dish of potato egg salad, spicy garlic broccoli rabe, radish and chive edamame salad. For dessert, ice-cream and brownies and some red wine to drink. Sara volunteered to get potato egg salad and wine as I took the responsibility to cook the rest of the meals. I knew I only had a couple of hours before the dinner so I started cooking early. I marinated the meat and put the meat in the oven to bake and started working on the side dish. In 85 minutes, I was done with all my cooking. I quickly went upstairs, took a shower, got dressed and came downstairs just in time to welcome…

We stepped out into the night and drove to the hospital. Once we got there, the nurse asked me a bunch of questions. From 1-10, 10 being the worst, how much does it hurt? How did this happen? Oh yeah, I thought. I never really thought out how this all happened. So I guess it went like this: I sat on the couch, about to watch a movie. When I sat down, I sat on a broken piece of plastic. Then, my elbow started bleeding really bad, but the pain was worse Finally, I ended up at the hospital. After all of the questions, the nurse took me into a small room with my brothers and my dad. The room had a chair, a sink, and worst of all, a tray full of needles. I hated needles. I’ve already experienced what felt like a knife in my elbow, I can’t handle a needle now, I thought. When the doctor came in, she told me I needed 5 stitches. Great, now I need stitches! This day couldn’t get any worse, I thought. First, she stuck about 12 needles in my elbow to numb it. With every single shot, I squeezed my eyes shut, gripped my dad’s hand, and inhaled sharply. Then, she took a black, plastic thread, and began sewing my elbow together. I still remember my pink and white striped shirt, and my brand new blue shorts that were covered with tiny drips of blood. I looked away the whole time the doctor was stitching up my elbow, but by the look on my dad’s face, it definitely wasn’t pretty. All I felt was the tugging on my arm. After what felt like an eternity, she finally made a few knots at the end of the stitch. My brother took a picture and showed me. Eww, it looks like spiders, I…
