Narrative Essay: Hansol's Day
Hansol's day was going positively, surprisingly. A crucial order was made that day, however, and of course, Hansol was involved. The black-haired boy wasn’t the best baker, he had a repetition for knocking things over or spilling things so when the older (and more experienced) bakers found out about him being involved they just shrugged and expected the worst.
However, what Hansol ended up doing was so far from what they thought was ‘the worst he could do’. Carrying the cake was up to Hansol, not too hard right? Wrong. On the way to the small, white van parked around the back, a boy appeared and ended up knocking into Hansol in the process, resulting in him dropping the important cake. He caught a quick glance at the boy who had bumped him. Hansol was planning his revenge on the boy even though he had just dropped the cake and it was now lying in a pile on the floor. And when he realized, his expression was a mix of confusion and terror, the feeling of disappointment sunk into his skin. What was his boss going to say? – …show more content…
“What!? You can’t do that, how am I going to afford anything! I can barely afford food now!” Panic overtook Hansol as he realized he would not be getting paid during his suspension. The minimum wage was barely paying his monthly rent and he couldn't afford proper meals. Because Hansol hadn't graduated, he found it almost impossible to find another part-time job.
Hansol no longer lives with his parents, he moved out as soon as he could, - He had always aspired to be a baker when he was younger so he moved to Seoul to make his dream come true. However, when Hansol moved out he only had enough money saved to buy a small studio apartment – it wasn’t the best but when he bought some plants and new bed covers it felt a little more like a home (He ended up asking a close friend of his to help him paint one of the walls a pale yellow instead of leaving it a sickly
