Narrative About Moving
I loved my life in Wabasso because I had a lot of friends and our class size was small so we all knew each other personally. In Wabasso there was very little traffic so I rode my bike around the town daily. Since It was a small town we also knew the teachers personally as well. My dad had four jobs total in Wabasso before he decided to get a new job somewhere else and that somewhere else was in New Ulm. His new job was at the rock quarry being a loading operator. He worked there for nine months before he decided we should move.
“Why are we moving?” I asked him.
“Because do you want to drive a hour and forty minutes everyday for nine months.”
“But i don’t want to move!” I firmly told him.
“Well that is not up to you now is it.” Hearing those words devastated me and i would go on to cry for the rest of the day. I was told not to tell my friends at school about us moving but i couldn’t hold that for them. So at the end of the day I told the two of them that i was moving they were sad but they helped me and when I was sad they made me happy again.

On the day before we were gonna pack up and move our stuff into our house in school everybody knew i was moving away tomorrow.
The teacher who knew this put a chair in the front of the room and made me sit in it and everybody started taking turns sharing memories and funny stuff about me. I cried twice during the whole thing and both of the times were from my best friends who helped me all the

The sadness that comes with saying goodbye to the friends you have spent your whole life with when moving is never easy. Throughout my education, I have moved schools 3 times and every time it has been a struggle to acclimate socially, mentally and academically. I started at Diegueno Middle School in the middle of the seventh grade. This was now my second school in only the first half of my first year of middle school. Again I had to adapt to new people and a different course load. This school had a much higher standard of academia then my prior school and at first, I struggled. School felt alien to me. Time passed and I made new friends and I got used to the difficulty. I started high school with the same group of friends from middle school…

Who could've thought moving states could cause such a change? I never knew it could… this much. As the for sale was ripped out of my yard, we returned back into my previous house. This was the day we moved to hot and big Texas. We hauled all our boxes, big and small, short and tall, into the moving truck. “Let's go,” my mom yelled. We started our journey to Texas, and I could already feel sorrow in my heart.…

“Your marching technique is one of the strongest in the band, but your musicality leaves something to be desired,” uttered my band director. I left my tenth-grade memorization assessment feeling flustered by overwhelming expectations that I was not fulfilling. Coming from a family of dedicated musicians, and a school where the band program is a fundamental extra-curricular activity, I felt misplaced. Although, balancing the decision behind my actions, engaging in a new environment, seeing my handwork fail, and then learning about the inner triumph of it all propelled me into a future of unknowing success.…

I moved to Alabama from Texas at the beginning of my 6th grade year. The day before leaving, my best friend since kindergarten came over and stayed the night with me, dreading falling asleep and waking up to a nightmare of having to say goodbye. The morning came and so did the tears, I had packed up my entire life, said goodbye to all my family, friends, my house, and even my dad. How was I, an insecure, and VERY shy little girl supposed to just leave everything I knew and loved and start all the way over when my life was just getting started? It was a long 12 hour drive from Dallas, Texas, to little town Guntersville, Alabama and it gave me a long time to pity myself, hate my mom for moving me, get over the hate and be excited, and then be upset all over again. Alabama. Why Alabama? We had a choice, Alabama or Florida, and we chose here??? Me being a stubborn, bratty, over dramatic pre-teen, I just couldn’t wrap my head around it. I thought the world was ending.…

He had it all, he had everything. Nothing could go wrong for him, he thought. Too bad he moved away, he’d soon meet his fate. It was mid-winter in Minnesota and young boy named Thomas was about to move out on his own after living with his parents for 18 years. Thankfully he had nothing to worry about, his parents will be funding all of his housing payments. Thomas always had an easy life, the most terrible thing he can remember happening to him was not making the hockey team in 7th grade, but that didn’t stop him, Thomas eventually made varsity hockey in 9th grade, before anyone else in his grade. Thomas had his fair share of girlfriends, but he usually ended it with them when they weren't entertaining him anymore, or giving him what he wants.…

I shoved the last of my clothing into a bag, anything I couldn’t fit into my luggage will have to be left behind. I’ve never realized how much stuff I had until I forced into a box; unfortunately, this didn’t stop from forcing as much as possible into bags, boxes, or luggage. Overall I packed almost my entire room. There’d be no room in my car for the mattress so it looks like the back seat will be my bed for the foreseeable future.…

Imagine being stripped away from everything you knew: your childhood friends; cousins you thought you'd always have with you, and places you called your second, third, or even fourth home. That is exactly what I went through when my family decided to move to Albuquerque, New Mexico. What's different about my experience was that it wasn't necessarily the move that flipped my world upside down but everything that happened in between. I was an awkward, shy, midget-like twelve-year-old when my family and I lost our home during the California money crisis. From that point on it was like a tumbling circus act. My parents ended up losing their jobs until finally my dad moved to New Mexico; leaving me and my family for almost a year. The last thing…

I can still remember that day. If you asked me, I thought the world was coming to a blazing end. Well, at least my world. It was a very humid and hot summer afternoon. Unusually warm for New England, it was the type of weather found in the deep south of our country. It was quite a coincidence actually; since this was the type of weather I would have to be used to. After all here I was on my way down to the south moving to Kentucky. It was a slightly a year before when I was first told by my parents that we would be moving. At first I didn’t believe them. I thought, “What kind of sick joke is this? “But after a few minutes I realized they were serious. More serious questions came popping into my mind. Why would we move? What about my friends? Who is going to buy this junky house? These were all questions that initially ran through my jumbled mind. My parents refused to answer my questions however. This got me extremely angry. How could they force such a change in my life and ignore my questions? My parents were being cruel, not because they were making me move but because they were completely ignoring my feelings and questions. My opinions and feelings meant nothing to them because they made the choice on their own. I was a…
