World Myths and Legends in Art. Myths are stories explaining why the world is the way it is. All cultures all over the world have myths and people get inspired by legends and myths. Artists are too inspired by myths and legends and have given them visual forms. Sometimes, the only surviving records of the beliefs and values of a particular culture are the artwork. Even with written records and existence of oral traditions, arts are still important since they add to our understanding of legends and myths.

The modern day is in many ways a continuation of the world of Greece and Rome. This may not be in music, industry, medicine or applied sciences but most of our intellectual and spiritual activities. We are considered to be the grandsons of the Romans and the great grandsons of the Greeks. Our influences have joined to make us what we are today. One of the strongest and richest strains was the influences of Greco-Roman. Our civilization would not merely be different without it.

The question here is if there was a real Hercules, a figure behind all the stories being told. This is a story of a man that was very strong and courageous.
