My Writing In The Free Narrative Style
As I reflect on my writing ability I feel I am strongest when writing in the free narrative style about something I am passionate about or have a decent amount of knowledge in. As I write about something I am passionate about I have a good concept of what I want to write so for me I am able to try some of the other writing styles such as creating an outline. Creating an outline has helped me streamline my thought process without rambling on in my writing.
In addition, I have used the paperrater.com tool that you told us about. I have been able to implement the suggestions after the reviewing process to make me a stronger writer. The site is user friendly and relates the responses in a clear and concise manner.

My writing process is usually all over the place, I have to be in my room with my door shut, my music on, my fan on, and my television on, weird, I know, but that is what I have to do in order to keep myself concentrated. After all of my ideas are laid out onto the paper I begin placing numbers beside them so I know…

In all seriousness, my writing is garbage, but it some what improved the slightest bit because I had a professor who actually knows how to teach a English class and not give little hints on telling us if our paper was trash. Instead, we were told straight if it was a good paper or not and it has probably helped me improve the most. In High School, I was always told that my papers were “good,” thankfully I finally had a Professor who can give it to me straight and tell us how we can improve our writing. On all the RRs, RWL, and formal essays that I have written these past twelve weeks, I have gotten educational criticism that has helped my pathetic writing become less pathetic and somewhat college worthy writing.…

I used to believe I was a good writer. Throughout my elementary school education, creative writing dominated curriculum which allowed my extremely creative mindset to thrive. In middle school, I developed an elitist mentality about my writing ability. Believing that I reached my academic peak, I felt no need to sharpen my writing skills, causing me to become close minded to critique or other writing styles. Upon entering high school, I still clung to the idea that I was the best, but after my first week of class, I realized how weak my writing skills were in contrast to those of other students. Now, I am aware of my strengths and weaknesses as a writer, and hope to have come far from my middle school self.…

If you choose to write a narrative, it should be a story in which either you or someone you know well was actually involved. You should avoid stories that simply recount accidents. What I mean is this: a good story needs to have the element of choice in it. If you describe an accident, you need to show that decisions led up to it. This story should be about people, about the decisions they make and the consequences that follow.…
