My Trip to South
My trip to Delhi

To save ourselves from scorching heat of the south our family planned a 5 day summer trip to north India. The trip was a great surprise for me because I’ve never been to any place beyond my own state earlier in my life. I was really excited and counting my days as we planned for the most awaiting trip. We planned to travel through airways. That was like an icing to a cake because this was my first experience through air and I had great expectations.

Finally the end to my countdown and the day when I was going to fly in the air. We were at the airport 2 hours before our flight timings. It was a total new scenario for me. As soon as the clock struck 12 we boarded our flights. Unlike trains, airplanes had a systematic seating arrangement, perfect punctual timings as well as great hospitality. I was impressed by the way air hostess greeted us on our boarding. We were served delicious food and creamy coffee as the flight boarded. It didn’t take long for us to reach our destination. I had butterflies in my stomach as soon as the flight swooped down from the skies and landed on the pavement with a sudden jerk.

We were received by our close cousins on Delhi airport. The were overwhelmed to see us all because we met time for the first time in last ten years. We were welcomed with immense happiness to their place. After having a short conversation with them we were guided to our rooms where we got freshen up and had a nap before we can plan ahead on our vacation. Then around 7’o clock we were served dinner followed by a short get together with close families. Everybody was enjoying their time talking about the olden times.

The next morning we planned to see some of the great monuments like red fort, India gate etc. It was a way more better place than the south side as the temperature was low. Then we started visiting some worshipping places like mosque,

I forgot to mention that when we left for our flight to California that was going to be my first time ever flying on an airplane. It was very exciting to fly, especially since it was going to be a long three hour flight. I felt like a little kid again when the flight attendant gave me my wings for flying for my first time. Not all people in the world get to experience flying, so I thought I was pretty lucky to get to enjoy this experience.…

“Passengers flying Flight QF563, your gate is now open for boarding”, I peacefully sipped what remained of my coffee and waited for Joshua to finish his bacon and egg roll. Shortly after, we began to make our way to our designated gate. The smell of low-priced takeout food filled the air and couldn’t help, but leave me feeling overly excited. My son and I navigated our way through the clustered crowds of other keen travellers, following the signs above our heads as well as the announcements that were played through the speakers at the airport.…

I woke up tired on a beautiful, sunny, Tuesday morning. It was the day I had to fly to San Francisco for my job on a cruise ship. I had been in between cruises, so I had taken the chance to come see my parents in Newark, New Jersey. Later I realized that it could have cost me dearly. I changed into my pressed, white, long sleeved shirt with khaki pants and my sailors hat that I had to wear for my job as a deckhand. I arrive at Newark Liberty International Airport a hour before my flight, where I hug my parents goodbye. I walk in and go through security easily and go to my gate and wait for thirty minutes until we would be able to board.…

I felt I knew what the trip was about, and challenges notwithstanding, we were going to fly, to keep making progress, and to arrive at our destination. There was truly never a point where I felt we were in serious danger, that we were going to die, or that we would lose the airplane. We continued progressing forward without any anxieties or sense of urgency. We simply moved with a purpose. From my point of view, it was unparalleled. In spite of the problems and complications we faced on a daily basis, in many ways they seemed minor compared to the adventures we experienced and the remarkably pleasant patterns we developed. Challenges filled our days to such a great extent that we regularly joked at breakfast about what difficulties we would encounter that day. Although there was always an issue, they were simply part of what was really a quite pleasing, gratifying routine. For me, the trip provided an extraordinary mix of excitement and calmness. Each day was predictably unpredictable. Any crisis we dealt with was balanced out by the serenity of flying and cruising along in the airplane. I loved it, I just plain loved it. The trip appealed to all the qualities I like in myself and all the activities I enjoy doing. We were constantly going somewhere and solving problems along the way. Our days possessed a Zen-like…

It was spring break of my senior year and my dance team plus our moms were about to travel to the city that never sleeps. All of us were so anxious to explore this amazing city that most of us have only seen on TV. I walked into the airport pushing only a pink stroller with a newborn baby girl and trying not to come in the way of rushing passengers. The ambience of the airport was very impressive. The lounge was brightly lit and tastefully decorated. Huge screens displaying the arrival and departure of flights greeted my daughter and me at different spots. It was a busy time of the day. There was a large number of people with baggage in tow, some standing in line before ticket counters and some proceeding towards different numbered gates. I was surrounded with madness. Everyone was in a hurry and had a place that they needed to be. I, on the other hand, was simply standing there, in front of the departing and arriving flights screen, waiting and watching patiently to see the flight number that my husband was to be arriving on. I was overwhelmed with so many different emotions. Excitement, happiness but most importantly nervousness took over my body. Which was odd because this wasn’t a new boyfriend, this was my husband. There wasn’t any reason I should be nervous, except for the fact that my husband was fixing to meet his precious newborn daughter for the first time.…

    New York City Adventure

My favorite trip I've ever been on was definitely my first trip to New York City. Through the many stores and massive crowds of people I learned some important life lessons, other than how much I enjoy elbow room. The "Big Apple" was more that just a city to me, it was an experience, in fact, the whole trip was an experience! Whether it was the airplane ride to Manhattan, the city itself, or the Yankee game we went too, I had an amazing time. I never will forget that early morning where drove up to the Charlotte-Douglas Airport and I began my NYC journey. I walked in to see people scattered across the airport like ants after an anthill was knocked over. My parents instantly went to get our boarding passes but with all the noise it was hard to keep up. While my parents were getting a bag checked at the front desk I began to look around and I saw all the people. Little did I know how many people I'd end up seeing in the next week alone! Then we began to roll our suitcases up to the security section of the airport. After just a few crazy minutes we were in the terminal area. It was hard to take in it all, but before I knew it I was boarding my plane to New York, New York! It all happened so fast, one second I was getting on a plane, the next I was sitting in a hotel looking down my window at "The city that never sleeps" (and with all the traffic and noise outside I'm pretty sure the people here don't sleep either!). Despite my lack of sleep, early the next morning my family and I were walking through the streets of New York City. We walked through Rockefeller Center and saw some of the studios where TV shows were filmed. We went on a ferry ride to see The Statue of Liberty, which itself was a beautiful site. We ate classic foods for the area, like New York Pizza from Grand Central Station, and a hot dog from Coney Island. All together this made for the greatest day ever, and believe me I slept through the night since all that touring made me really…
