DISCUSSION QUESTION:MY TEACHERS

The teachers I admire most are those who remain intellectually curious and profesionally vital inside and outside the classroom. They avoid stagnation at all costs and maintain an enviable passion for children and the learning process. They remain vivid in the students' memories forever because of their compassion and creativity.I had such a teacher in my school days .She was my science teacher who always took little more efforts to make sure we understood the concepts,by displaying a practical or live model or by employing different more methodologies .Her compassionate approach towards the students made her build a good raport with all of us.In my experience ,such a teacher was not only able to ensure that we grasped the essentials of the subject, but also encouraged me to explore more details on the learning.

Good teachers know that by listening to and working with colleagues, parents and other professionals and community members that they can inspire students and improve their learning .Planning a particular lesson with an awareness of the objectives and conditions is very much necessary .To be an effective teacher, one has to teach well.Also,he/she needs to be a good communicator not only with the students but also with co-teachers and parents.

Non-verbal communication is of considerable importance for teacher-student interaction .It includes gestures, head movements, eye contact, facial expressions ,tone of voice ,touch and even silence. The ineffective teachers on the contrary do not seem to play any role outside the classroom.Their teaching is very much resticted to the contexts and such teacjers inhibit themselves from extending support beyond the class. Also their lessons are very poorly planned and they fail to collect a proper feedback from the students regarding their understanding on the lesson. They fail to create a non-threatening and welcoming environment for the students, eventually they dont succeed in building a good rapport with them.Just as an effective teacher could change a child's life for the better ,weak teaching can also have a profound and long-lasting effects on the child's life and his/her interest towards the particular subject.

Looking back on my education, there are plenty of teachers that I felt were effective in getting me to learn material, but I will mention just two. Teacher A was my 8th grade and 10th grade math teacher. He didn’t necessarily make math easier in any way, but he made math much more fun because you looked forward to going to his class. Teacher A always used simple jokes, often requiring a very dry humor, which made me constantly pay attention in class so I could catch his different jokes. He also had the ability to demand respect in his class without ever really enforcing anything. He was simply such an amazing teacher that everyone respected his class and no one ever acted up. Teacher B, my 8th grade science teacher, also had a big impact on my education for the better. I enjoyed going to her classes because she was able to connect with me and a few of my friends on more of a personal level. She took an interest in our lives and made sure we were all on the path toward better futures. She, unlike Teacher A, demanded respect in her classroom in more of an authoritative way. Her students knew that if they acted up, she would not skip a beat to send them to the office, resulting in very few problems.…

Have you ever had One of those teacher’s? Do you know the type I mean? That amazing teacher who always went the extra mile to help you figure out the solution to the tough problems, or even the one who always seemed to make the problems that much tougher just to mess with you. In my experiences I have had both, and if I were to choose the type of teacher that had to teach my children I would want the teacher who went the extra mile. The teacher who believes that all students have the ability to succeed and become members of the elite. The teacher who helps students to learn to think for themselves not just act like parrots and repeat the information verbatim. Teachers who teach hands on and get the students interested…

Outstanding teachers are patient, compassionate, and understanding. Teachers need to be patient to deal with students asking the same questions over and over again or students who are too hyper for the classroom space. If a teacher has no patience they will most likely have high stress levels or possible heart attacks. Teachers also need to be compassionate in order to make students feel comfortable in the classroom. If a teacher isn't compassionate, the students will not feel okay with speaking their mind or participating in class.…
