Have you heard about stereotypes? Stereotypes are any idea or thought about specific group of people. However, it could be true and it could be wrong. It could be offensive and it could be not. For instance, the idea that crying only for girls not boys, or the Japanese are very smart, or Saudis are reach people who are living in the desert. These stereotypes usually come based on media or cultures sometimes. One of these stereotypes that I have suffered from is that united states is very dangerous place.
First, how is that affected me? Before, I come to the United States, I had the idea that it is a very dangerous place. Which means crimes happen everywhere, people carrying guns all the time for different purposes such as ether protecting or murdering. Therefore, when I came to the united states I was very scared. I didn’t leave the airport directly as I arrived because I started thinking about these thoughts. Also, when I used to spend a lot of time in my apartment to keep my self safe. One more thing is that I used to not use the high ways unless I have a company with me.

I decided to face my fears to put an end to it. However, I started daring to go alone without any company even though I was scared from doing this. After a while, these fears and ideas started to go away. I could to go out alone latterly at any time. I remember once I was going out to Toledo to spend the night there with some friend. However, I realized that I forgot my wallet at my apartment. So, I let my car opened and I went to get my wallet and somehow I got late in the apartment. When I got out to my car I saw something that surprised me. I saw a cup in front my car and he asked me if this is my car or not. Then he said have a good night. At this point I realized how safe we are here and all my fears
