I loved this book! It was very interesting to me. It was definitely a book that I couldn't put down. When she told about her experiences about making new friends and also losing her family I found this very interesting and heartbreaking to know the pain she must have been going through. A weak point in this book was when Hannelore couldn't find…
I liked this book mainly because of how different it was compared to my lifestyle and how entertaining it was. Nikki turner didn’t really sugar coat much so I felt I was watching a movie and saw it for what it truly was. Like anyone’s guilty pleasure we all like reality television and it kind of reminded me of just that with fights and drama. The books good points that were how certain events that happen in one’s life good or bad really do shape a person into who they become. Teaching me to not be ashamed of what happens and to only use that circumstance as a motivation of some kind. For anyone that is interested in a gritty, suspenseful, and eye bulging book that keeps you wondering what’s next I would definably recommend this book to that someone willing to take a…
Do you think it is ethical to design and conceive a child that meets specific genetic requirements?…
From its use of symbolism to the life lesson. Jeannette Walls told her story in a unique way and it made me feel different emotion. After reading about what Jeannette and her siblings had to go through, made me think about my life. Personally, it made me grateful for having a family that provides me a shelter and treats me well. Of course, we all have ups and downs, but it just so hard to believe what she went through. And how she manages to stay strong and positive, when others can easily give up. I highly recommend this book to everyone, as if it can change your perspective on…
It had humor, real life events, sadness, and suspense. I would most definitely recommend this novel to someone because although it’s very long, you won’t want to stop reading it. This book will make you wonder, cry, even laugh. It’s a book that I think had great meaning and was put together very well. In my opinion, there is no flaws about this book except how long it is.…
I love how the author incorporated suspense, a steamy romance with humor. There were moments that I laughed so hard that my husband wondered about me. You will have to read it. Enjoyed! ~by…
I like how its really intense and calming and also some parts funny. I like how it talks about teen pregnancy because some young teens will want to get pregnant at such a young age and if they read this book it may help them change their mind and wait till they get older, thats very important to me. I really like the chapter where Bobby was talking about the wall when he was trying to get everything back in place and try to see who he really was, i thought that part was really good. I like how it goes back and fourth for the chapters like then and now, it makes you want to read more because in one chapter it tells you really good information and you just want to read even more till the…
One reason to read this book is how fast emotions change. On one page the characters are laughing the next they are grieving over a family member who is a victim of a deadly plague that will take life. On one page the main character is rampaging and destroying technology the next she is trying to save her sister's life. If you like books with fast mood changes that this is the book for you. Something that makes this book even better is the cliffhanger ending.…
The flashbacks in My Sister’s Keeper are a significant part of the story. Throughout the novel these flashbacks allow the reader to connect with character’s memories from the past. As readers learn these memories, they are able to interpret character’s emotions. By understanding a character’s personal experience, their actions and thoughts are better understood by the reader. After all, one’s past leads them to who they become. For example, Anna’s intentions are to stay calm and collective while filing for medical emancipation. When she remembers a good time she had with her sister in the hospital, she becomes emotional. Because of the flashback she has, readers can understand that she slightly loses her cool because the two of them are very close and she cannot bear the thought of losing her.…
My Sisters keeper is a heartwhrenching, and powerfull film. It depics the life of the fitzgerald family, and the struggles they face with a daughter dying of lukimea. The love that they have for each other is unconditional, but are divied in the fate of there terminally ill daughter, Kate. Untimatly, this story is about the everlasting bond between sisters, anna and kate fitsgeradle. After watching this film, you are left with a tear, but unsure if that single tear is of sadness, or happiness.…
I think that the author, Dee Henderson, wrote this book very well. Henderson has an amazing way of showing the emotion f the characters she is portraying on her writings. I feel as though Henderson has a way of writing that warms your heart, making it seem like you are in…
I chose to read this specific book because I read the back and was intrigued on how the author would tie the setting into the character’s story. The author wrote this book beautifully and it is something that really make people think about the past. The book pulled me in and didn’t make me want to stop reading. Also, this book is in my reading level which was a very important part of choosing this because I wanted to make sure that I completely understood the details and events in this story.…
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a person of the Jewish faith during World War Two, to go into hiding in a cramped apartment for two years? Anne Frank didn’t have to wonder, because all of this became a reality in November of 1945. Anne Frank from “The Diary of Anne Frank” by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett is a character who has an intimate connection towards a diary. Anne is an inspired 12 year old Jew with a good head on her shoulders. While she is still a typical young adult, she comes across as a little bit of an old soul. Her character comes alive through the diary she receives from her father for her birthday. The diary is a part of her, a part who she was. She comes alive to whoever reads her words. Not only is she relatable, but you can almost feel the emotions that she felt. Anne is defiant, caring, and positive.…
Another reason this book is a must read is because it touches your heart. When she writes her self instructions to the pills to kill herself so she did not have to live like that anymore. Another sad moment is when she os reading the story to lydia at the end and tells her what it is about. It is an emotional book. I would highly recommend this book to many. It is a thrill to read and super easy because it's hard to put…
The narrator can see most important details, depending on what person we’re following during that specific chapter. We would be put in a lot more suspense if the narrator didn’t switch perspectives. This book is beloved by teens, and young adults everywhere with good reason.…
