My Role Model
In my life I have had very few role models. They have been generally people I knew or worked with in the military, but they have been the ones I could always go to for advice. As I have gotten older and mature I have realize that more than just these people can be role models to me. For me one of my best role models is my friend Marvin.

Marvin and I are a lot alike in some ways. We both grew up with strong father figures and had very supportive mothers who love us very much. Marvin is three years younger than me and we have been friends for about ten years. We have both served together in the Middle East and other installations around the world. To begin to understand why I look up to Marvin we will first have to learn about his past and where he is now.

Marvin grew up in a very caring home where his parent’s believed in good strong family tides. He went to school and excellence in academics and sports like the rest if his brothers and sisters. Marvin attended First Baptist Church on Wednesdays and Sunday and sang in the choir. His mom also support him by working as Choir Director, although she was charge he still needed her wisdom and guidance to be a faith church member.

During his tour in the Navy Marvin worked on the ship and hung out with a variety of people. Some were good others were not so good. Eventually he fell into to the so called "party scene". He started getting into drinking, and hanging out with too many women. After a while Marvin really stop caring about what other people thought of his life. Even as he was doing this he continued to go to church and act as if everything was fine. His work performance started going downhill with him drinking so much. He was doing this while he was still going to church on a regular basis. He eventually turned to the church for help and attending counseling to kick his drinking habit. .

Consequently, my biggest role models ended up being family members. One of my older brothers, Kenny, and I grew up in the exact same education system. He was a few grades above me, but we went to all the same schools and had almost all of the same teachers. Whenever I would move up a grade, the teacher never failed to bring up something my brother did or how smart he was in their class. Whether it was math, English, science, history, a sport, or a club, I felt like I would never live up to his name. We were in the exact same situation, facing almost the same obstacles, yet somehow, he was doing so much better than I was. He eventually became not only my biggest role model, but my biggest rival as well. Trying to keep up with him pushed me to do my best. By the end of middle school, I was unofficially known as “Kenny’s Little…

In thinking about writing a paper on a good role model, I asked my 12 year old son who he saw as a role model. He told me “Clay Matthews III, linebacker for the Green Bay Packers.” (Jovanni, 2012) So, I have chosen to write about this man. To see if holds and teaches the values that I also believe in. Is he a good and upstanding person that young people can look up too? I will compare his worldview to mine and consider whether he is indeed a good role model for my son and others.…

The best type of role model is one that teaches a good life lesson. What’s part of a good life lesson? A good life lesson stays with you whole life. Many times in life, we come across a tough, influential person who leaves a great and powerful impact on our lives. Maybe it is an actress, superhero, family, teacher, or just a stranger who did something that changes your thoughts and decisions about life. Fortunately, I came across to someone who supported me from the very beginning of the journey of my life. That person is my beloved mother, who taught me to walk my first steps, who introduced me to the crazy side of life, and who has always been there for me when I needed her. Ever since I could remember, she has been right beside me supporting any goal I was trying to reach, even when it was incredibly ridiculous to everybody else. When I grow old with my own children, I hope I can be there for my kids, and make an unforgettable impact on their lives the way she did for me.…

In life there is always a person, or role model that you will look up to and admire. A person may admire their role model, or mentor, because of their looks, wit, or even general personality. No matter who you are there is always someone that you attempt to emulate in some way, shape, or form throughout your life. There is no limit to the amount of role models one person can have. There may only be one person whose ideas you look at and agree with whole heartedly, or you may take portions from a vast number of others in order to create your own unique persona, and ideas. For myself, a prominent mentor was my high school Chemistry and Physics teacher, Mr. Robert Hage.…

If I could choose a role model it would be Hannibal Smith from the A-Team. To begin, Hannibal will always be there for the A-Team. Whether is into a huge firefight, or escaping high-security prisons, Hannibal will be there to save the day. I look up to his leadership, and his care for the A-Team. Secondly, Hannibal Smith knows how to put together a plan, and execute it (he loves it when a plan comes together). The A-Team consists of 4 members, and together with Smith creating the plan they are a force to be reckoned. Smith has improvised tons of plans that saved the whole team, and without him, the A-Team couldn’t exist. And finally, Hannibal experience in the US military. Hannibal Smith served in the Vietnam War, and received countless medals…
