My Personal Statement: The Development Of Leadership Roles
As long as I can remember, I have known what I wanted to do with my life. Leadership has always been a passion of mine. I have taken up leadership roles since from my primary school up to the university. These roles I have taken have been crucial to the development of the leadership potentials and Influencing abilities in me.
Starting from the most recent role I have taken, was my position as a monitor as well as the supervisor of the October, 2017 4 days immunization program against polio virus. My role was to monitor the activities of the teams in several communities in Nyanya ward of Abuja.
During the immunization campaigns, most communities have rejected the immunization due to the fear that the vaccine may be harmful to their children, …show more content…
My work as a teacher at Reference Point Academy has improved my networking skills and I have also had the opportunity of guiding my students on their chosen careers. It was during my time in the school that the school was able to learn about several external programmes they were supposed to participate such as Cowbellpedia, Opportunity Fund Program of the U.S Embassy, Japanese (MEXT) Scholarship and so on. I was able to guide some of my students through the application stages and some were selected for the program.
Social media has also made things easier for me. Within my friends, colleagues and course mates I have created some groups and pages on social media so as to foster the exchange of information and ideas among ourselves. I also have made them aware of the current Chevening scholarships and have encouraged them to apply because it will be a very good step to their career development if selected.
Networking is a key to personal growth and career development. Being part of the Chevening community, I would have the opportunity to surround myself with people whom I share similar ambition and would be able to understand and learn the cultures of other communities as well as interact with …show more content…
The faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in BUK was established in the year 2016. As a new faculty, the need for professionals in the field of Pharmaceutical Science increased and we were notified by some of the lecturers that there is need for professionals in the field, Hence my interest in Pharmaceutical Science.
My interest in this area was first aroused during my undergraduate studies at Bayero University, Kano (a Nigerian University) where I studied Chemistry and I chose to do my final year research on the topic “Extraction and Qualitative Analysis of Alkaloids from the Leaves, Seed and Flesh of Mangifera Indica”. During my research I sourced documents relating to Pharmacology and my interest was further aroused when reading some other documents relating to Organic and Medicinal Chemistry.
My education in Pharmaceutical will not only make me a professional in the field, but it will as well enable me impact knowledge to other individuals as well as produce future professionals in the
