My Personal Journal Analysis
Since the start of class and our first personal journal, I have been utilizing what i've learned in my personal life. I've been talking to a new girl these past few weeks and we've been on a few dates. After learning about listening strategies, I tried to apply them to when I'm talking to her. After a particularly long day at work, she was venting to me about her day and where normally I would have offered a personal experience, saying something along the lines of "yeah i've been there' or "i hate when that shit happens" instead I said "you sound angry". I got a different response from what I expected, she actually calmed down a lot after that and her day went from being terrible, to just being annoying. The class overall is not what I expected.
