My Passion I Learn Spanish
I used to bounce around with dreams and ambitions like a really energetic frog. I shifted from wanting to be an artist, to an author, to a teacher, to a who-knows-what for as long as I can remember. I never kept one specific dream that compelled me to excel in one particular area because I was too indecisive. That was until I found a passion. One that urged me to try, try again no matter how many times I failed. I always knew that I had been naturally skilled at speaking Spanish, but, then again, my family has had a Spanish-speaking housekeeper since I was six weeks old. I learned Spanish as I learned English, and while other kids were learning to count to ten, I learned in both Spanish and English. It felt natural, like it was a part of me, a part that I hoped to never forget. As I grew into my toddler and childhood years, I became reserved, engaging less and less in conversation and losing my natural touch in the language. I had forgotten, despite my attempts to remember. I want to learn Spanish, so I can speak with people from all over the world. Nevertheless, my passion extends beyond that one language.
After traveling around Europe with my family during two separate summers, I have come to realize how much I love traveling and being in different places around the world. However I have come to realize how frustrating and irritating it is to not be able to understand people, which has fueled me to want to learn as many languages as is physically possible. I want to explore the world. I hope to see places that I have never seen before and experience things that I cannot in Texas.
