My Most Unforgettable Christmas
The unforgettable Christmas

The most wonderful time for me as a child was the winter. I will never forget when in late November I was waiting for the first snow. In the morning when I woke up, I looked out of window and saw snow-covered trees and buildings, I could not have been happier. Because snow from the point of view of a 6 year old child, meant really good fun. My friends and I made snowmen, went tobogganing, and pretended to be detectives tracing each other from our footsteps. There were so many things to do. I loved winter also because of Christmas time. I specially remember one of them. It was a very cold winter. It was snowing all the time and the temperature was very low; it was really freezing. We went to my grandparents for Christmas Eve. All my family including my parents, sisters and brother, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins and a few family friends were sitting round the big dining table.

Every year we followed the same tradition, it was just fantastic. All my family were wearing smart clothes, the gifts were waiting under the Christmas tree and my grandmother was baking delicious gingerbread cakes with icing. My responsibility was looking out of a window at the sky and searching for first star because it was only then that we could start to eat the traditional twelve dishes for supper. “I have found one; I have found the first star.” I shouted happily. Everybody stood up and started sharing their wafers and sharing their best wishes for each other.

After we ate the supper, it was time to get our presents. It was my favourite part, because it meant that Santa Claus would come and give each of us our gifts. I had been looking forward to that all year, to meet the old man with a long, grey bread, ruddy cheeks and fancy red clothes. I believed that he arrived from Finland on a big sledge pulled by reindeers and parked on the top of my house and came down the chimney with a huge bagful of presents. It was

I will never forget the Christmas when I was 14 years old. The whole day was so wonderful and exciting. We had to wake up and unwrap presents early because my father was working that day so everyone woke up at 5:00 AM. After all the presents were given out, everyone said was saying goodbye to my father and went back to sleep. At 9:00 AM, we had to wake up to clean the house because we have “Christmas Brunch” every other year where my whole family comes to have a meal. My mom has a total of 5 brothers and sisters. And they all came with their families, which included their kids and some of their kids even have children. So, at my house, there was a rough total of about fifty family members for the brunch. The food that we ate on this day was unbelievably and utterly amazing. Most of the types of food that we devoured were Polish and German cultural foods, which are the two major nationalities in my family. There was fried Polish sausage with sautéed onions. They were a perfect combination of saltiness to sweetness. Then there were some sweet and creamy pecan rolls that my grandmother used to make all the time, but unfortunately I could not have one since I am allergic to nuts. Then to top all of those foods, there were all different sorts of pierogi. There were the family favorite potato pierogi, the sweet cheese pierogi, and then there were the blueberry pierogi which are my favorite. Those foods were the three items that we mostly ate at the brunch. All the adults would be either drinking coffee, soda, or some alcoholic beverages and for me my favorite thing to drink: Polish carbonated water.…

All of the seasons are great. Winter is really fun with Christmas and the snow. Fall is also great because of the leafs and football games. But I would have to say that my favorite season of all is summer. Summer is the best, it is baseball season I love to play baseball I have been playing baseball ever since I was a kid. Baseball is the my second favorite sport (First is football). Baseball is you just play the game and have fun. Even if you are losing it is still great to be out on a baseball field having fun with your friends. For example this year my freshman baseball was pretty good but not the best. There were some games we won and some games we lost. It's always fun to win. But even when you do lose you still have a great time out on a baseball field with your team.…

The method of concluding traits about a character is known as characterization, and it is when an author lets readers know any kind of information regarding the characters in a story. The two types of characterization are direct and indirect. Direct characterization occurs when an author directly states a trait of a character. Indirect, on the other hand, is used when the author shows a character 's trait through their actions, thoughts and speech, appearance, or that of another character. Truman Capote 's short story "A Christmas Memory", is about a young boy, referred to as "Buddy," and his best friend, or older cousin, who is unnamed in the story. As a tradition, the two friends bake fruitcakes and send the baked goods to acquaintances they have met only once or twice, and to people they have never met at all. They live in a house with other relatives, who are authoritative and stern, and have a dog named Queenie. As the two try to make the best of their Christmas, complications occur and Buddy is sent off to military school, thus making it their last Christmas together. Buddy 's friend would be characterized as: childish, kind, and religious.…

My family celebrates Christmas. Christmas is my personal favorite holiday, for mostly selfish reasons, but reasons none the less. On Christmas Eve we start by going to my grandparents house and having a big dinner and opening stockings that my grandma hand made for us when we were born. Then when we get home the first thing we do is unload the stuff from our grandparents house and get ready for bed. My siblings and I go into our parents bedroom and get on Santa Tracker immediately so we know when we should go to bed. This year that might change though, becuase Miles, my little brother, knows about Santa now. We find a Christmas movie or two then settle down on the floor or bed. Usually we watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Elf. We watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas because when we first started the tradition that is what we watched and the second movie because it is our favorite Christmas movie us. The tradition started one year when for Christmas we got new furniture for our rooms and we could not be in our rooms while they were putting the furniture together. Basically the tradition started as a trick and we liked it so much, we thought, let's do it again next year a couple of times. I suppose that is how most traditions start though. The idea behind the tradition is that we all wake up together and we all see the presents at the same…

The holiday tradition for christmas in my family starts on Christmas eve, since I have little brother and sisters we bake cookies for santa and set the milk out and we even put reindoor food out! (It's glitter and trail mix) When me and my siblings have finally fell asleep, my parents put out nthe gifts they don't wrap the ones from santa so it looks more realistic! Anyways, early in the morning we wake up and see the gifts from santa, then we open the ones from our parents. After our presents have been opened and the mess from all the wrapping paper and open boxes are cleaned up we go to the waffle house and chow down! Then we get together with our whole family and have christmas dinner and exchange presents. I love christmas with my family, not only because of the gifts but because we don't get together as much as we should!…

I have listed two good reasons why I like Christmas above all holidays, but the main reason actually is because of the family. See most people have family all over the place so when the holiday comes around they all meet up and they all get full of joy for being able to finally see them again. Another reason why spending time with the family is the best is because you get to hear all of those great stories they tell. These are the main reasons why I like…

On Christmas Eve I attend a midnight mass and in that morning some of my relatives and friends come over to spend the day with my family and me.
